Since Google’s vision for taking over your home currently involves having a Google Home and Google WiFi in as many rooms as possible, it makes sense that company should consider combining the two into a single unit that does both things. According to a report out of The Information, Google is currently working towards such a product.

While we don’t have many details, the idea makes a lot of sense. Google Home is there to talk to, play music, and help you get things done, but you may as well tuck the guts of a Google WiFi inside to both strengthen the signal for Home and the rest of your devices. This combined product would help eliminate the need to for double the amount of smart devices throughout.

Pricing might be difficult to predict, but we do know that Google Home and Google WiFi each cost $129. Would a combined product cost $250 or would Google find a way to reduce that? This is Google, so hopefully we’re looking at something closer to the $200 range. Again, that’s speculation.
