DEAL: HTC U Ultra is Just $635.99 at eBay ($113 Off)

htc u ultra deal

Pre-orders of the HTC U Ultra in the US are apparently shipping from HTC’s store, but look, you should probably cancel yours and just order one through eBay if this is the phone for you. eBay has been selling them for a good week or two now, with one seller dropping the price like crazy over the past few days. You can currently buy a brand new, unlocked U Ultra for as low as $635.99. That’s an insane $113 discount on a phone that hasn’t even technically launched yet.

The specific model being sold is the one we’re reviewing right now. It’s dual-SIM, so you can travel like a boss with it, or just kick it on two carriers for the heck of it. It’s unlocked and works perfectly on both AT&T and T-Mobile, just like the US model that you would overpay massively for at $749.

Colors available are black, white, blue, and pink, though the blue may already be sold out. In the box, you get the HTC USonic earbuds, case, and cleaning cloth, just like you do in the US, as well. The charger included in the box is an international charger, but the seller is throwing in a US adapter.

One downside is the lack of HTC’s Uh Oh Protection. Since this phone is purchased through eBay, you won’t get the free screen replacement or water damage coverage.

Free shipping is included. Should you order today, you may even have the bad boy before US pre-orders arrive.

    Lol. Already a price cut.

  • Fred

It will go below 500 in a month.

Isn’t something (a feature or two) this one doesn’t have that the US version does ? I forgot what it is.

  • Beardr8

Kinda interested in buying it just to resell it at the HTC price…..

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Why would someone buy it at the HTC Price not from HTC?

      • Beardr8

Because I’d be willing to bet the average user wouldn’t know the difference.

  • DanG

HTC is really doing their best to go south.

  • What happened to HTC man? They used to make good phones…smh

take the M8…keep it GPE and update the specs….bam

      • T4rd

Hell yeah, loved my M8. The M9 was decent too, but Qualcomm kinda screwed OEMs that year with the mediocre 810, so it didn’t compete well with the Samsung/Exynos phones. It annoys me to no end that they dropped the front facing speakers and IR blasters now. You can’t find phones with both of them anymore, the Mate 9 is the closest thing I’ve seen.

        • Duffman

Had an M7 and still feel it was the best over all phone I’ve ever owned. They were onto something so good with the M7/M8. I hope they go back to those roots.

      • even the HTC 10 was a fine phone. whatever this U Ultra is is mostly a disaster

  • Murphy’s Magnet

    Still not interesting.

  • crimraw625

Is this really a deal, though?

    • $113 discount on something that hasn’t launched yet seems like it. Now, is the U Ultra worth even $635? Not up for me to decide heh.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

I’m still 100% Anti-NoHeadPhoneJack….. No phone without one gets my money unless they give me a sensible reason for doing it…. Then there’s everything else wrong with this phone.

    • Also, HTC isn’t including a Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box. So not only is it Type-C only, you can’t even use your own headphones ever.

      • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Smh ….I just can’t with HTC this year. Even as their bandwagon leader.

      • sinfoman

I want to downvote this post (not the poster) so HTC knows what a RIDICULOUSLY. BAD. IDEA. this was. Dear Lord, even Apple knew they’d have a revolt on their hands if they didn’t give the 100s of MILLIONS (honestly, probably BILLIONS at this point) of 3.5 users SOME kind of out. That’s tough.

    • BobButtons

What bothers me almost as much as them dropping the headphone jack is when people defend it by listing a few ways around it (adapters, bluetooth) as if those are arguments in support of dropping it. Work-arounds are needed when there’s a problem. Those aren’t positives in support of a decision. Also, bluetooth is already an option with headphone jacks….. I’ve yet to see anyone provide an actual benefit to dropping the jack. Waterproofing and big batteries are still a thing with them.

    • AvalancheRyder

At least Apple had the financial motive of licensing fees for all the lightning headphones manufacturers will sell. HTC has no such benefit. Now that takes real courage, to annoy your customers while providing zero upside for your company.

  • Rashad

That’s the true launch price lol
