Tech outfits like to “teardown” phones and other gadgets for a couple of reasons. For one, we’re all nerds and like looking at cables, batteries, screws, circuits, speakers, ports, boards, and displays in their raw, disconnected form. But the other reason is because we also like to ponder the idea of fixing these things ourselves should something break. After all, who doesn’t like pulling out a 70-piece tool kit made specifically for ripping apart tiny electronics?

The latest to receive the teardown treatment is the OnePlus 3. The folks over at Fonearena had the honor of walking through the process, which they gave a 7.5 out of 10 score on the repairability scale. That’s them suggesting that this phone isn’t that easy to repair, unless you can figure out how to get the back cover off without destroying everything inside.

Inside the phone, you won’t really find any surprises, this is just another one of those videos that we find odd, nerd joy in.
