Amazon Echo is a good product and all, thanks to the constant stream of new features to Alexa, but the problem with Echo has always been the fact that it needs to be anchored to a power source. That’s why Amazon created the Amazon Tap, which is basically the Bluetooth version of Echo that can be taken with you for tunes and access to Alexa.

For those looking for access to Alexa, but would rather have it in a portable format, we thought you should know that the Amazon Tap has been discounted by $20 at the moment. That discount brings the price to a really reasonable $109 with Prime shipping.

As a recap, the Tap is the Bluetooth-enabled version of Echo with 9 hours of music playback, 360-degree omni-directional audio, and access to Prime Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. You could also use it as a stand-alone Bluetooth speaker to stream whatever music you want over Bluetooth as well.

To access Alexa, Amazon’s voice-controlled assistant, the Tap does require that you “tap” it first, in case you were wondering. While Echo is always-listening, the Tap probably can’t or else its 9-hour battery life would be significantly reduced. You’ll also need Tap to be connected to WiFi.
