On this late Friday afternoon, it appears Motorola is seeding out a soak test to select Moto X (2nd Gen) Pure Edition owners, updating them to Android 5.1. The Pure Edition is the carrier unlocked model, so as a message to all US carrier variant owners, don’t go looking at your phones quite yet.

From reviewing the changelog for Android 5.1 on Motorola’s site, the list of fixes is massive. Motorola lists a ton of bug fixes, enhancements for the camera, improved notifications, new quick settings (standard in Android 5.1), and performance improvements as well.

If you currently own a Moto X (2nd Gen) Pure Edition, and are signed up to receive soak tests via Motorola’s Feedback Network, be on the lookout.

That was quick, Moto.
