Man have not used Swype in years. Worth an install? I just use the Google keyboard and love it.

So material design is now free after I already purchased it when it first came out? Bogus!

Looking to use this for my nexus 6 so i can type one handed again. Just need to find out how to do the floating keyboard…

  • interstellarmind

Floating keyboard layout/ option needs to come Google keyboard!!!

It’d be a serious help when trying to one hand my Nexus 6!

  • I’ve used Swype since it was first released, and I’m glad we finally have emoji support, but their idea of “intuitive emoji support” is just awful. It means if you Swype the word “smile” the smile emoji will be a word choice. And if you don’t know the magic word that gets you an emoji? To bad for you. I couldn’t even figure out how to get the poop emoji. Total fail.

    • Reeb99

Agreed. I don’t know why they just won’t give us a normal emoji browser like Google keyboard does. That’s the only reason I have Google keyboard installed.

Still no option for a dedicated number row…

    • Tom Z

I find the easiest way to enter numbers is to Swype to the number 5. It will give you a numeric keypad.

But, when typing mixed letters / numbers it would be nice to be able to add an extra row of dedicated numbers.

I have been using Swype for at least 2-years and I had not idea you could do that. Thanks!

Or just gout Touchpal X where you dont NEED a number row, you just flick up off the top letter row.

I Always end up going back to SwiftKey!! Love me some SwiftKey

    • Picaso86

I’ve been using the Z3 Keyboard on my G2 and it is just as good as SwiftKey… it also supports dual languages.

  • I like how “drake” is an autocorrect option for Seattle.

  • New themes looking good, going to give this a try over the beloved SwiftKey and see if I keep it. Hopefully its prediction is on part with SwiftKey also

    Theres Emojis in different languages?

    • JMonkeYJ

I think it means that if you type a word (now in a variety of languages) it will auto-suggest emoji that are relevant to that word. A number of keyboards do that these days.

  • It now freezes the system for 5-6 seconds and then crashes. Wish SwiftKey brings cut-copy-paste shortcut so that I can uninstall swype for good.

    • BigTimmay

Agreed. That’s one of my favorite features in Swype.

Must be your phone…smooth for me.

  • DJyoSNOW

Was not keen on swype they use dragon for voice to text, which always needed the internet on.

    • Terrance Steiner

Are there any voice to text services that do not require an internet connection? I agree, it would be nice if you could switch voice-to-text services services though.

      • DJyoSNOW

I forget if I had a hack or a setting feature. (was a good while a go) Though I’ve had Google voice on the swype keyboard. I was really hoping some one more knowledgeable could reply.
