A revised Slingshot app has been published to Google Play, after the team at Facebook decided to go back to the drawing board following much feedback received from users.

In a blog post, the Slingshot team stated that when updating an application, it’s not only about what you add to the app, but what you remove. “We understand that improving a product isn’t only about what you add, but about what you remove, so we made a simpler, cleaner, more fun Slingshot.”

As for what’s new in version 2.0, users are treated to a simpler sharing process, with the convenience to share moments (photos and videos) with just a couple of taps, as well as the ability to edit moments with filters, drawing tools, and emojis. Moments will stick in you and your friend’s feed for 24 hours or until swiped away, which has been worked on from its previous iteration.

Here is a look at what’s new in the update, although, it’s basically a feature list for the app itself.

What’s New

  • Quickly shoot and share moments throughout your day
  • Get creative with filters, drawings and emojis
  • Shots stick around for 24 hours or until they’re swiped away
  • Reply to any shot with a private photo or video reaction
  • Connect with friends and follow awesome people around the world
  • Turn on instant notifications to never miss a moment from your favorite people
  • Relive your day and share your favorite shots out to other apps
