The LG G3 on Verizon is receiving an update today to build VS98511C that should bring a performance boost to the QHD beast. I can’t tell you how many people have told us that their G3 has slowed down immensely over the last couple of months, so hopefully this takes care of whatever was plaguing a device that has enough in the spec department to not have issues with performance.

The update also improves network connectivity and adds camera app access directly to the lock screen through a swiping gesture.

The update seems to be rolling out to a new number of our readers now. If you would like to try and pull it, head into Settings>System updates>Check for new system update.

Here is the changelog, according to Verizon’s really terrible new support site:

THE FOLLOWING IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE:
Lockscreen (Camera button)

  • User can access Camera app directly by dragging camera button to the left.

THE FOLLOWING ISSUES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED:

  • Increase device speed for user experience
  • Increase network connectivity

Let us know how that performance is after the update!

Cheers @zake32, Jamie and Barry!
