LG G3 in Moon Violet and Burgundy Red to Hit Select Markets Next Month

Do you find the current selection of LG G3 colors a bit drab? Well, as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. As first revealed in May, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red models will soon be joining the monochromatic Metallic Black, Silk White, and Shine Gold options that have been available since launch.

Cause for celebration? Not quite. LG said exact colors and dates will be decided “locally in conjunction with carriers.” Translation? Not everyone will have access to every color.

Of course, considering Sprint already has an exclusive on the Gold G3 here in the US, the revelation is not exactly earth-shattering. Still, it will only exacerbate the problem.

The new colors will begin shipping to select markets starting in August according to LG.

If you still have yet to pick up a G3, but were thinking about it, which color would you opt for if given the choice?

The G3 is a fantastic piece of hardware chock full of features that should be standard for any flagship smartphone. It’s one of the best phones to debut this year. And if you have decided to become a proud owner of this device, perhaps you’re in the market for a solid and beautiful protection case as well.

I choose the color that comes with the snap dragon 805.

Never understood why these companies do this so close to launch. I can see way down the road when sales slow and they try to drum interest but why not just release all of these at launch. And the stupid carrier exclusives need to go.

How about in smaller sizes without gimped specs…a 720p 4.3″ G3 Mini with no bezels would be hot

A steaming hot turd is more like it.

For the most part you could just switch out backs like the throwback Nokia phone days…I’ll stick with black though.

I have the burgundy red back already. It is darker that it looks in this picture. Just waiting on the NFC/Qi sticker to install it.

It’s not burgundy or red, and certainly not a combination of the two. It’s Pink. And purple.

    No band-aid color. Nice.

    I love the burgundy red.

I doubt any of the US carriers pick up the other 2 colors. Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day has passed.

Carrier exclusive colors are just silly. Make them available to everyone, regardless of carrier.

i’ll take carrier exclusive colors over carrier exclusive features and phones any day.
