Deal: Unlocked LG G3 in White, Gold, or Black for $499 on eBay Daily Deals

An unlocked LG G3 popped up today on eBay’s daily deals for $499, which actually seems like a solid price for a brand new phone that works on AT&T (LTE too if the specs on this page are correct).

You can choose from any of the three available colors:  white, grey, or gold. This is the G3 that falls under model number D855, which appears to be an international unlocked UK unit, but again, the description lists out that it should work perfectly on AT&T’s GSM and LTE networks. Also, there is a good chance that this phone has built-in wireless charging out of the box.

One thing to be aware of is the fact that this version only has 16GB of internal storage, which also means only 2GB of RAM. It’s the 32GB variant that has the upgraded 3GB of RAM, so that is somewhat of a downside. If you think 2GB of RAM is enough, then by all means, take a look at this deal. The rest of the specs are the same, including the QHD display, micro SD card support up to 128GB, 13MP camera with OIS+, etc.

It also comes with free economy shipping.

*Note – who knows why the seller put “Optimus” in the description. LG dropped the “Optimus” brand a while ago.

I bought this phone. Confirmed LTE AT&T isn’t working. Anyone figure out group messaging on the stock messaging app? I can send a group message but replies come back in single threads. I didn’t see any option to fix this in settings.

  • Jdib

I know I’m a little late to this post and I hope someone sees this. Can someone tell me the difference between the international version and the US version? I tried doing a search online but got very little results as to the actual differences.

  • candide08

This is only the 16GB model, with only 2GB ram. I also highly doubt it will work with AT&T LTE – at least not everywhere in the country. Caveat Emptor.

  • A Skylit [S]unjΔy

This is such a sweet deal.

    • Brycel N.

A great deal. A nice case for us .www.casecoco.com/personalized-cases-for-others/lg-g3-casecoco-cases-183

  • duke69111

The gold is oddly already out of stock.

  • Kane Desousa

This doesnt get LTE on AT&T so its worthless. I’ve had one. The 3gb d855 variant. The 700mhz on this isn’t band 17.

  • Bane

I’m pretty sure the European variant (855) does not have AT&T’s LTE bands. It’s the Korean variant that does. Having just bought a phone of Ebay that had the wrong bands listed and going through a painful return process, I have to advise that buyer beware.

It might have 1700 support, but not 700, which is the one AT&T uses the most.

  • shooter50

No tmobile LTE. Had it, sent it back and purchased from Tmobile

    • flosserelli

I was about to put my fist through a wall if this worked on T-Mobile.

Well, not really. But I was gonna be really pissed that I paid $100 more.

  • Once you go 3GB of RAM, you never go back.

    • Tony Byatt

      Went from a Note 3 to a Nexus 5…

      So, it can happen… 😛

      • Bane

A Note 3 basically only has 2GB of RAM. The other Gig is completely swallowed up by Touchwiz and the S-Pen suite.

        • Tony Byatt

You have just stated my reason for going to the N5… 😉

          • A Skylit [S]unjΔy

Why didn’t you just install Cyanogenmod, AOKP or any AOSP-based rom?

          • Tony Byatt

            Don’t flash ROMs anymore…

          • Adam Elghor

            Verizon Note 3 doesn’t have AOSP roms…

Got my g3 on Tuesday and I’ll be returning it tomorrow. Amazing phone but the screen is over kill and destroys the battery. I even rooted greenified and got rid of all bloatware and still after 5 hours my battery was down to 43% and that’s with brightness at 25% going back to the g2

    • Mech_Engr_09

Then there’s something wrong. What is your screen on time. I unplug mine at 5:15am and it’s good until about 9 pm. Usually around 4 hrs screen time.

    • yankeesusa

yea, definitely something wrong. The g3 gets almost just as good battery as the g2. Oh well I guess. I’m loving the g3, of course I prefer the 3gb version.

    • p0k3y

Mine lasts all day with normal use and still have 40% left at 11pm. Yep, something may be wrong with that unit. I also hear that battery life tends to improve over time. So may want to give it a couple more days.

    • Sankyou

G3’s battery has been fantastic for me. @89% after 4 hours with several phones calls and 45 mins on-screen. I’d say this is better than my optimized Moto X was and in-line with what I was seeing with my brief stint on the G2.

  • This deal is available in India also..?

    • Mech_Engr_09

      No. India gets nothing.

      • flosserelli

        They have plenty of cows.

  • Tony G

Will this phone work on Tmobile network?

  • Karthik

I don’t know if this is legit or not. The deal seems really nice but it just seems somewhat weird to have it $80 off this early after launch. Also, I’m fine with the 2GB ram and 16 gig storage as they match my current phone’s specs but still I have my doubts.

  • Droid Ronin

Will this work on T-Mobile LTE bands?

  • jerflash

This phone will on LTE band 17 700mhz…not really good enough and it 16gb. Better off getting the tmobile lg g3 and running it on att. Working awesome for me unlocked bootloader and root. Turned off all the att and lg crap and its running like a bullet! Battery life is great now as well now. Titanium backup and greenify are your friends.

    • batman

so the t-mo version has an unlockable bootloader?

      • jerflash

yes it does. check xda for root instructions…super easy. only band tmobile is missing from its phone is band 5 for att…its not widely used yet so as far as i can tell here near nyc it works perfect. cellunlocker 8 bucks for the sim unlock code

    • p0k3y

Agree this is not a good deal since it’s the 2GB version with questionable LTE support. But between T-mob and AT&T version, I think it’s still a toss-up. T-mob is $20 more expensive, but does support Qi, if wireless charging is your thing. I unlocked my AT&T version from IMEI-Unlocker for $6. AT&T version can be easily rooted via towelroot. Not sure about the bootloader, but there isn’t any roms now anyway…

  • Ben Murphy

Damn you Verizon for making me cut my beer fund to save up to buy the G3 outright! *fists to the sky!*

    • Bryan Mills

And they took away the device payment plan.

      • Ben Murphy

        I know, that’s my frustration.

        • broke ass ngga

i guess the only other option would be to apply for a credit card and pay it off that way?

          • Ben Murphy

I got rid of my credit cards a long time ago… You know, because, college.

      • KleenDroid

Yes that was upsetting, and only a few days before the launch of the G3.

I had to pay full retail for mine upfront.

        • Mech_Engr_09

Same. Ended up at $890 after taxes with the G watch. Verizon knows how to dish out the d to it’s loyal customers.

          • Ben Murphy

Can I take a loan out from you? Lol

          • Mech_Engr_09

Of course, but you’re not gonna like my interest. 10% a week compounded for the first month then 20 % for every following month 🙂 Sorry I was at Verizon today, so the evil’s still getting out of me.

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

You might have to cut back on the protein shake fund too.

      • Ben Murphy

All natural baby! My job has a bit to do wit dem guns. =)

its called broatmeal get it right

          • Ben Murphy

            Breaties naw, that doesn’t work….>.>

    • Bruce

      you mad, bro?
by the way, you fisted to the wrong place. don’t mess with the almighty. 😉

    • Kommon

It’s priced $499 too high. On the bright side, you can use it to heat your home in the winter.

  • Bryan Mills

Still not sure why LG made 2 verisons. Looks petty at 16gb/2 just like the other crap S5.

    • Cory S

2GB is plenty, as is the 801. Actually why not just use a Snapdragon 400. You’d like that.

      • Bryan Mills

        16gb isn’t.

        Ill take Snapdragon 999999999

        • Cory S

It has an SD card slot quityerbichin

      • FU16GB

anything under 32 gb needs to go away for good TBH, i get away with it on my nexus 5.. but its barely enough

  • johnnyboi

It doesn’t support LTE At&t bands, only the Korean versions, and T-mobile versions support At&t LTE bands.

  • sturmen

I don’t think it supports LTE on AT&T, because according to Wikipedia, AT&T has LTE on 700, 1700, and 1900 MHz. This listing matches only 700 MHz out of those.

    • glimmerman76

att has band 2,4,5,17 lte bands. band 5 runs on 850mhz. I live in a band 5 area.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

hmmmm Unlocked At&t LTE. This is what I need. But I want 32GB though.

    • 16gb sucks like tom brady

i agree, 16gb can die in a fire. its of no use to anyone now a days

    • epps720

the SD card slot should handle your issues

      • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

        Not for apps it won’t.
