AT&T’s 4G LTE Rollout Continues, New Markets Lit Up This Morning

ATT

AT&T told us that by the “end of this summer” it would be wrapping up its rollout of 4G LTE markets across the country. That date is only a few months away, and since AT&T already covers well over 500 markets and 280 million Americans, new markets getting lit up are hard to come by.

Only a short list of cities/towns are going live today, but who can complain about more people getting to access the great speed that LTE downloads can bring?

We have today’s list of new cities and markets below.

New Markets

  • Santa Barbra, CA
  • Santa Maria, CA
  • Goleta, CA
  • LaGrange, GA
  • Warsaw, IN
  • Casper, WY

Enjoy those new-found speeds, folks.

When they say “wrapping up its rollout of 4G LTE markets” what does that mean? Seems like there are still large swaths of uninhabited areas that are not 4G, particularly in the west.

Comparing the list to T-Mobile, just because:
    - Santa Barbara, CA: LTE
    - Santa Maria, CA: 3G (some LTE spotted north on RootMetrics & Sensorly)
    - Goleta, CA: LTE
    - LaGrange, GA: LTE
    - Warsaw, IN: 2G (3G surrounding the area just a tad)
    - Casper, WY: ROAMING (only of the 3 carriers who are roaming)

Also, I’m pretty sure Santa Barbara was spelled wrong.

Only 2 things keeping with big red these days and it is certainly not their unbelievably low plan pricing: 1) UDP and 2) best 4G LTE coverage. Well 1 is getting harder and harder to keep (err…work around to keep) and 2 is shrinking by the day.
