Back in January at CES, the gaming-hardware company Razer jumped into the wearable technology race with their announcement of the Nabu. When CES ended, the Nabu was something we were eagerly awaiting, but since then news of the wristband has died down. Part of that silence is due to the fact that Razer had to delay a previously announced beta preview of the product to make sure that it was fully hypoallergenic. The last thing Razer wanted to encounter with their new wearable was a situation similar to that which required a recall by Fitbit.

Razer is coming back swinging today by announcing an open beta for the Nabu – they are looking for fans of their products to test it for them.

Sign-ups for this program start today and there are only 500 spots open. Razer only wants the most “hardcore fans” to prove themselves, so they can get into this beta test. If selected, the Nabu will be offered for only $1 to these lucky testers with the devices slated to ship by July 10. Razer points out that if you are highly active on social media like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, your chances to be accepted will be greater. Selection ends on July 3, so if you do get picked your Fourth of July should be a little sweeter.

If you are ready to prove to Razer that you are a hardcore fan, head on over to the sign-up website. Make sure to let us know if you get accepted.
