The Droid Life Show: Episode 61

The crew is assembling tonight at 6pm Pacific for Episode 61 of The Droid Life Show. On tonight’s show, we will discuss the idea that Amazon is about to release a smartphone to the market (unveiling set for June 18) with “3D-like” viewing capabilities and see if anyone cares.

Topics will then flow into Google recently showing off the Moto 360 and LG G Watch with their displays on (360 looks larger than previously expected), changes we have seen in the update to Android 4.4.3, HTC’s continued decline in revenues, the first Samsung Tizen smartphone, and a whole lot more. Oh, did Apple announce a bunch of iOS stuff too? Yes they did.

And if you are really nice, we might be able to squeeze in a bit of live Q&A. We are live tonight at 6:00PM Pacific (9:00PM Eastern).

Just one thing that I really don’t get, why is everyone down on Hangouts, what’s so crappy about it? For me it works great, if I want to send a Hangout to a bunch of people or person to person it does it. If I want to send a sms I can switch right from Hangouts. If I want to do it from the computer it does it, so what’s so crappy about it?

I completely agree @32:35. Just get rid of that standard text messaging app altogether from android. Have hangouts the default messaging app, once opened (if they user has not created a gmail, emphasize the fact it will give them free messaging so they can utilize that). For those who do not like hangouts, you can still download a different messaging app and set that to your default. However for the general populous, I think that is what should happen.
