LG G Watch System Dump Reportedly Dumped Online, Shows Legit Android Boot Animation (Updated)

A system dump for the G Watch from LG has hit the web, showing off an incredibly fancy Android boot animation. We have yet to dig into the dump ourselves, but the Twitter account @UpLeaks was kind enough to upload the dump for anyone to sift through.

System dumps don’t usually provide too much, but they do offer a look at what apks could come installed on the device, and sometimes they offer a few wallpapers from the manufacturer.

So far, the only thing of interest is the boot animation. We have posted it below for your viewing pleasure.

Want to check out the system dump yourself? Download it here.

Update:  We are digging through the dump now, so we will update this post as we have more. For now, here are the clock faces that will come stock on the device.

Update 2:  For some reason, the G Watch says “Powered by Google” all over, instead of “Powered by Android.”

Update 3:  Here are some of the cards that will appear for Google Now items, like birthdays, package deliveries, traffic, weather, places, stocks, etc.

bg_now_stocks_neutral bg_now_timeathome_day bg_now_traffic_high_day bg_now_reminders_night bg_now_tickets

Update 4:  Here is the build.prop – codename “dory” and product name “platina.”

# begin build properties
# autogenerated by buildinfo.sh
ro.build.date=Thu May 22 02:59:18 UTC 2014
ro.product.model=G Watch
# ro.build.product is obsolete; use ro.product.device
# Do not try to parse ro.build.description or .fingerprint
ro.build.description=platina-user 4.4W KKV51 1187829 release-keys
# end build properties

Update 5:  We are about done combing through the G Watch dump, but wanted to point out that there is a remote shutter .apk, which I would assume means there will be a way to remotely snap a picture with the G Watch connected to your phone. There are also mentions of a step counter, potential calorie counter, and a compass app. It definitely doesn’t look bloated the way that Samsung bloated out its Gear devices. The list of .apk files is relatively small. This watch appears to be all about Google Now functionality, but with a few added features thrown in for good measure.

Already running that nice boot animation on my Nexus 5

  • Shane Redman

There are pictures of the Moto360 on wrist popping up on androidpolice.com. IT LOOKS HUGE

  • wtd2009

like the new android logo. hope they keep it

  • Xillra fe

gotta say those watch faces look pretty nice.

  • Jonathan Williams

Still think the word dump is funny.

  • archercc

This will give rise to a new GIF. NYAN.Watch!

  • Chris

They remind me of the cover on an 80’s VHS tape…

  • NorCalGuy

Def a good boot animation for what its on. Also like how it trys to maintain a googlesk theme.

  • guest

looking at the APKs, interesting things of note: GoogleMapsMicro.apk and ClockworkRemoteShutter.apk (camera?)

    Obvious Base functionality apps:
    Alarm, Compass, Stopwatch, Timer

  • BuckNut614

Honestly not that impressed with those images. Boot image is cool and all but its jut a boot image. I was hoping for a more sleek minimal concept, hopefully they have many many more options. This cartoonish stuff is for kids and the Easter Bunny ; )

  • guest

in his previous leaks, g-watch device name = Dory… the fish?

  • akellar

    Ugh why all the pastels?!?

  • Daeshaun Griffiths

yes yes yes!!!!!!!!! YESSSS. Next we’ll see powered by Sense. i(f HTC can survive) Powered by touchwiz. Finally. i’m so excited.

  • BAM1789

Not digging the stock watch faces.. But good thing we’ll be able to download more

    • epps720

      Yeah those are horrible

      • Miguel

At least it’s much better than what’s out there “G Gear” I still want to see what the final Moto will look like and they need it.

    • Mike Aurin

The first one is the only acceptable one. After a system dump of this magnitude the Moto 360 still has my vote.

  • Shane Redman

    Not round enough!

  • hfoster52

Biggest complaint about my Gear is the watch band. Need a metal band. Gear 2 was a good upgrade to get rid of the camera nipple. (I haven’t done the Tizen update yet)

If Moto 360 or LG have a metal band then I might move on.

    • Aram⚡

Moto 360 has an optional metal band.

      • Aram⚡

        Here is a picture.

        • PoisonApple31

          Nice RENDER.

          • Kevin

well its the render from moto’s website

    • Dominic Powell

Moto 360 already has a metal band confirmed.

  • WCM3

    Pssh…LG G3 + Moto 360 = Combo of 2014 🙂

    • Ray
    • PoisonApple31

      Combo of Summer 2014.

    • Danmheadache

      Probably LG G3 + G Watch = Combo 1 and Moto X+1 + Moto 360 = Combo 2 of 2014
Even though both watches have android wear, the companies probably have
their own customization of some kind that would work better with their new phones 🙂

  • TSK

Maybe reading too much into it, but shows a day and night theme, theres what appears to be watch hands that then kind of transform into a wheel, possibly for the auto scene that Google wants to jump into. Android everywhere, day and night. Don’t forget it.

  • Garrett Sechelski

Not really liking any of the clock faces… I’d like my watch to look like a watch when I’m not using it.

    • cadtek91

Are the first four not watch faces?

      • Garrett Sechelski

Could you see Fossil or Bulova or Audemar or Rolex or etc… making a watch with faces that look like that?

        • Dominic Powell

This part of the device may actually be changeable (could be a downloadable app on the app store). So expect tons of watch faces. Also Motorola’s 360 Watch faces look HAWT – http://goo.gl/AGjIZP

          there are tons there

          • Garrett Sechelski

True, watch faces should definitely be downloadable. I really don’t know what you could do to make the square watch look right though. The Moto 360 has already ruined me (thanks for the link, those are AWESOME) and I haven’t even seen it in person yet.

  • Android_09

  • Android_09

That would look nice on my moto X 🙂

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Google I/O can’t come fast enough.

  • Matthew DiGiacomo

That may be the coolest boot animation I have ever seen.

  • Android_09

Anyone interested in buying my note 3 listing on swappa?

    • htowngtr

Trade you for Nexus 5? 😉

    • jonzey231

      I’ll trade for Nexus 4

    • Charlesvtiu

      i’ll trade for moto x! 🙂

      • Android_09

        Sorry already have one.

    • htowngtr

      So that’s a no?

    • Android_09

It comes with a gear as well as the extended hyperion battery.

  • elvisgp

That looks beautiful. Finally a new font for the android logo too, no more of that gingerbread style font.

  • htowngtr

Toss up between this and Moto360, obviously. A lot will depend on cost.

    • Android_09

I think they will be priced pretty evenly, in the end I wouldn’t let $50 keep me from getting the one I want more.

      • htowngtr

I would like to try both on and look at them on my wrist to see which screen I like better and how it feels. IMO people that opt-in right away will do so with some regrets.

    • mustbepbs

If the 360 has any Moto X specific features, I’ll get it over the LG.

Hell, I’ll get it over the LG anyway.

  • Samvelavich

that was beautiful. cant wait to have that on all android devices!
