Deal: Sony Xperia Z2 Just $599 Through eBay

Sony_Xperia_Z2_D6503_LTE_Factory_Unlocked_20_7MP_5_2__2_3GHz_Quad_Core___eBay

Sony’s newest flagship to not come to America, the Xperia Z2 (hands-on here), is available today through eBay for only $599.99. The device typically retails for around $799.99, making this deal good for $200 off the sticker price. Not too shabby, eBay.

You have your choice of colors – Black, White, and Purple, with all models sporting 16GB of storage, 20MP rear-facing camera, 5.2″ 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, NFC, microSD slot, and come running Android 4.4.2.

If the Sony Xperia Z2 has been on your shopping list, and you don’t mind running it on either T-Mobile or AT&T’s network, then have at it.

eBay Link. ($599.99)

Cheers Justin!

Should I buy this or not. ahhhh such a great deal.

    • simp1istic

Yes. It’s a great phone if you can handle the size.

      • Jon Rojas

Either this or wait for the G3

        • simp1istic

For me it’s no contest, LG’s software is annoying, Sony has: Waterproof, Stereo speakers, Physical camera button, no wonky back keys, slick docking solution.

  • James Hill

I’ll pass. The phone is ugly as hell.

    • M3D1T8R

Interesting how different people have different taste. I think this is probably the best looking device on the market currently. Curious, what phone you do like the looks of?

      • James Hill

        LG G3

      • aQuickBit

I agree, that purple one is gorgeous.

        • M3D1T8R

Yeah I actually love that Sony Purple. Would buy it if it came to Verizon. And I’m an “always get the black model” kind of guy.

    • Mike

I don’t know what you’re looking at. Have you seen it in person. OMG I can’t believe you call the phone ugly

  • TC Infantino

I really can’t wait until they standardize VoLTE, so that you can buy whatever phone you want, and it will work on every carrier. So tired of awesome phones not being available on VZW.

    • simp1istic

There’s a great solution to that. It also has the added benefit of saving you money.

  • DanielMena9

    Waiting on that Compact Z2

  • p0k3y

This was my phone to get this year – but of course SONY dragged their feet on US release. Now with G3, no way I am buying this. You snooze you lose, SONY. BTW, it was 679.99 on same ebay deal last week. I guess they are getting nervous after seeing G3. Hahaha…

    • hoosiercub88

Other than the OIS camera.. the G3 literally offers nothing above the Z2 in terms of hardware specifications. I understand though, but let’s be honest.. when was the last time Sony actually cared about a big US release?

      • p0k3y

I think the larger QHD display is worth quite a bit to me. Plus the G3 is physically smaller than the Z2. That’s just unbelievable. I also don’t like the glass back, which is a fingerprint magnet.

        • Paul Hansen

I have concerns about driving the display resolution (battery and GPU performance) but it’s definitely a solid device. If it gets down to $499 before the Moto announcement I’ll likely grab one.

          • p0k3y

Yes, if LG makes us wait too long and charges too much, they will lose my business too. We all know Moto X+1 will be much less expensive. I think it will be $400 again like the X. Just hope it’s got better display and camera than the X.

          • greyhulk

It’ll have a horrible camera because Motorola has never, in it’s entire history, put a good camera in a phone. It’s one of the few manufacturers that doesn’t buy Sony lenses and they just can’t seem to get the software processing right.

          • Ubi2447

More people are put off by the fact that the LG is packing an 801 and not an 805. If they do wait I think we’ll see the device become too dated for some.

          • Ubi2447

The only people upset by that are the uninformed and just think “omg 805 has better gpu, its better!” The 805, as is right now, does not come with an integrated modem like the 800/801 and would require any mobile phone to use another module which would severely impact battery life. It’s intended for tablets and to act as a bridge until the next generation (810) of mobile chips became mainstream next year. Perhaps all the consumer whining will cause them to refresh the 805 for mobile devices (before its even released…) but chances are slim.

  • flosserelli

Nice deal but I’ll wait for the G3 3/32 GB

    • Maxim∑

might as well buy the G2…

MKBHD reported display brightness throttling due to heat ….

      • Kane Desousa

        G2 also does that lol

        • Bryan Mills

And who has the brightness at 100% all the time? Mine never goes over 60%.

          • Kane Desousa

Well when you’re outside you have no choice sometimes.

  • hoosiercub88

I thought the Z2 had 3Gb of RAM?

    • Paul Hansen

      It does.

    • hc8

Yeah it does, they should fix information.

  • Tony Byatt

    *3GB RAM…

  • droidify

I’d buy this if the bezels were just a little larger

    • John Davids

      Ha!

  • paul_cus

Would rather wait on a Z2 Compact at this point.

    • simp1istic

Waiting is a favorite past time for sony phone customers in america.

    • Victor Sato

      or wait for the Z3

  • jnt

Is it fully compatible on T-Mobile?

    • Paul Hansen

      Yes, just no wifi calling.

  • David P

Avoid this phone at all cost. There is a mic issue with this phone that Sony won’t address.

    • greyhulk

And an overheating issue, which pretty much defeats the purpose of the camera. People are reporting it not just with 4k, but 1080p and some camera modes like AR. Software can only address so much. And god forgive you if you live in a hot climate and try to use it to take photos.

      • Kane Desousa

        Doesn’t overheat for me..

        • greyhulk

Congratulations on having the only one that doesn’t. Better hold onto that. Or do you live in the Arctic?

          • Kane Desousa

No, There was an update 3 days ago to fix many “issues”

          • JackFrost

All the “problems” have been fixed with a patch, or have fixes with some simple settings tinkering. Here’s basically every single fix anyone would need to know. http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/xperia-z2-problems/#!RXsQs

          • greyhulk

I assume you read that article when the phone was first releasing and have been parroting this information ever since without any actual hands on experience but you can pretend you do and lie to save face or just stfu either way your attitude is terrible so enjoy this run on sentence.

          • greyhulk

Nice name. No, in fact I spend a lot of time in XDA forum and do plenty of research on an issue when I hear about it and there are plenty of reports of this, including several dedicated threads on XDA. It is very widespread. Nice try, though, bro.

    • Kane Desousa

Well, not everyone has that issue..

      • zach

Haha hilarious reading comments from man who hasnt even got the device, yet he acts like he knows everything. Pathetic. Phone has no overheating issues, only after 6 or so minutes of 4k recording it might overheating, but thats normal as s5 limits 4k recording to 5minutes. Some had more overheating problems, but that was an issue of early batch, you could just exchange device as faulty.

  • M3D1T8R

Wow. Good lord I wish this worked on Verizon. At $600 I’d buy this right now. Dang it. Good buy for you guys on T-Mo or ATT.

  • Matthew DiGiacomo

Argh! This makes waiting for the G3 to release a little tougher… but not much :p
