AllCast Now Available for Fire TV – Cast Your Photos, Videos, and Music to the Box

amazon fire tv-7

AllCast, the application from Koush that allows users to Cast a wider variety of content to the Chromecast dongle, is now available on Amazon’s Appstore for the Fire TV. With AllCast, users can play music, watch videos, and view photos from their Android devices on Amazon’s new set-top box.

In addition to just the usual casting from phone routine, users can also view and play media from a DLNA server, as well as view content which is located on a Google+ or Dropbox account. It’s quite the nifty little app, and many Chromecast users have been praising it since release.

The app is priced at free, so if you have been enjoying a new Fire TV, this should help you enjoy it even more.

how can I cast movies I’ve purchased on the Google Play store to this Fire TV ?

Is it me or is AllCast very slow in casting photos and videos?

Because it uses Fire TV, it has to be downloaded via the Amazon Appstore?

      Yes, most definitely.

No, that is only partially true.
On Fire tv, you have to download it and install it (and that’s done through Amazon appstore for fire tv)
On your phone / tablet or whatever, you can use any appstore you want (e.g. if you have galaxy s3, you can get it either from Play Store or from Amazon App store)

Does that mean I can play games and use the play store and to watch movies and TV? Would be pretty amazing if the controller worked with some of the FPS games I already purchased in Play from my phone
