Kovdev’s Latest Icon Pack Domo, Now Live on Google Play

At the beginning of this month, we teased the upcoming Domo icon pack from kovdev, better known as our friend and occasional DL Show participant Dave Kover. His icon packs are well known throughout the Android community, and Domo will certainly add to his reputation as an icon artist.

Domo carries a nice mixture of shadow and texture, with the slightest hint of 3D visuals. While the icons themselves are gorgeous, I’m more of a wallpaper kind of guy, and Domo completely delivers on that front. On top of the 1650+ icons available in the pack, with timely updates always taking place, Domo also features 20 HD wallpapers. And yup, they’re sexy.

The icon pack costs just $1.99 on Google Play. If you use a third party launcher which allows for custom icon packs, go check it out.

Some good soul could make the download of the black and green wallpaper that was shown in the latest post about domo. I really would like to have, but pay 1.99 just for it …

    • Techtechtechy techtech

Not sure if it uploads in full resolution. Here you go. Some wallpapers seems a little pixelated on my nexus 5 🙁

  • Cameron

Maybe I missed this somewhere, but how do you get your icons that close together? I have tried everything I can think of but I can’t get them to look like that without making the icons huge.

    • GridiroN

Depends on your launcher. Nova Launcher can change the amount of rows and grids you get. Setting rows above the default for your device scrunches your icons more closely together if you wanna save space.

  • Walter Partlo

Besides just being awesome in general, Dave always includes a DL icon for me to use for my DL bookmarks shortcut. Because of this, I rarely use anyone else’s icon sets.

  • WitnessG

Kxnt just released his new icon pack aswell today. Its called Dash UI. It sort of resembles Nox imo.

  • supremekizzle

How do you get that app drawer button?

  • trwb

What is the clock widget in the main photo?

    • grumpyfuzz

      • trwb

        Great. Thank you!

        • grumpyfuzz

          Np 🙂

  • Ronald Lockwich

I seem to always have a problem downloading the wallpapers to my device (Note 3). They never show up in the gallery. I don’t know what’s wrong with my phone. Never been able to figure that out.

    • JDHokie

      Try sdcard/DCIM/(IconPackName)
My Nox wallpapers download to sdcard/DCIM/Nox.

      • Ronald Lockwich

Worked perfectly through file manager. Thanks for the reply!!

  • Mario

great icon pack this is my go to now, thanks guys.

  • Techtechtechy techtech

The wallpapers are looking a bit pixelated on my nexus 5. Bought this for the wallpapers so I’m a little bummed. 🙁 Any one else having the same problem?

  • Daniel Traynor

Not sure if it’s just me but I really don’t like these custom icon packs.
    Stock are so much better!

  • Allen

Has he released a pack with just the latest wallpapers?

  • Raven

Nice looking wallpapers, but I get bored with static wallpapers way too fast. Now, if he released some Live Wallpapers with moving, shifting, morphing animated versions of those wallpapers I would be all over them.

  • PuttsMoBilesiCit

Icon packs were cool back when gingerbread was around… GEL and Nexus all the way.

    • spearman792

You can use icon packs with GEL using the root app Unicon. It’s $2, but it works well

      • meijin3

Yeah, that’s what I do. The Xposed Framework is a godsend.

    • joejoe5709

I still prefer the consistency of an icon pack and all the settings that come with a more custom launcher.

      • JoshGroff

I’m definitely with you on custom launchers, so much customization on Nova while keeping the look of stock that I have no reason to use stock ever.

  • Rodeojones000

Love Tersus and Lumos. This one doesn’t do it for me. Not a fan of the shadow line down the middle and the wallpapers aren’t as good as his usual inclusions. To each his own I guess.

  • joejoe5709

I’m not a fan of anything rounded Apple-esque but I do like the half shaded, half light icons so maybe he’ll do a squared icon set with this design language. Awesome wallpapers, though.

  • ManBearPig618

    Kovdev delivers again. Beautiful wallpapers.

  • dannyWHITE

LOVE his work! Keep it up Kover!

  • Walter Partlo

Dave’s stuff is the only stuff that I buy before I even really check out the product. It does make it easier to see what they will look like on my phone that way.

    • K

He’s one of onmy a few devs you can rely on to push out regular updates. Other’s can go a whole month, and even longer, without even pushing out updates and those are the ones I no longer purchase from.

      • Nathaniel Webb

in their defense, it’s a lot more work than it seems like, and a lot of people have other full time jobs.

        • K

True. I’ve also purchased many icon packs that are no longer being supported by their respective devs and which is why I’m now more cautious of who I purchase from. The ones that provide regular updates are probably the least likely to to drop support.

          • Nathaniel Webb

that’s fair. Speaking only for myself, i wish i had 16 hours a day to devote to updates, but i’m lucky to get 2 after the kids are asleep lol

  • p8ntballah21

Probably the nicest set of wallpapers I’ve ever seen, worth the money for those alone. The icons are an added bonus!

  • Kenny Woodard

I still prefer my Click UI pack. Very unique and colorful icons that pop on your screen. If you haven’t seen them, you should check them out 🙂

  • JonathonFlores

I’ve seen icon packs, pretty similar to this prior to this release, from other devs. These any different/special?

    • K

Care to share some similar icon packs? I’ve seen a lot and can’t think of any that are pretty similar to these. It doesn’t have a flat minimal design like a lot out there and no long shadows.

    • George Davis

The differences among icon packs are going to be subtle, because of the design constraints on icons in general (especially if they all share a silhouette like kovdev’s). The couple you posted all have rounded corners and shadow effects, but there are subtle differences. Dave’s color pallets in particular are very tasteful and consistent. There’s a fine grain effect that you can only see on HD displays (helps if you enlarge them to 115% or more in settings) and the half-shadow effect is a nice change from the long shadows that have become so common lately. The artwork within the icons is also very tasteful and consistent. And the wallpaper selection is awesome. Of course, I’ve spent way too much money on icon packs so I probably notice more details than I would otherwise.

  • Pete Arado

I’m not a huge fan of this particular set of icons (I love Nox and Lumos), but these wallpapers are freakin’ awesome.

    • joejoe5709

Got it for the wallpapers as well. And who knows, I might use the icons if I’m bored one day. Great job, Kovdev!

    • Al-Burrit0

Yup the icons are okay but lumos are way better IMO, but I might just buy it for the wallpapers! C:

    • Boblank84

Agree about the icons and wallpaper. I think I have bought everything kovdev has published but not a huge fan of these. I mainly dislike how the non included icons look. He normally does a great job not making app icons stick out that are not included. I do love the walls though.

  • Actually grabbed it last night (maybe went live at Midnight EST?). Refunded though. Outside of the icons for core Google/Android apps, the “perspective” doesn’t seem to work as well–to me–anyway.

  • cns2007

Google Rewards balance now equals $0.10.

    • debonu

Yeah mine is starting to get low as well… Darn icon packs…

    • BiggiePhat

I receive a survey like once a month and i usually get like 50 cents. What am i doing wrong lol

      • K

You must not be in a very important demographic 😛

        • picaso86

          I get those non-paid ones… FAIL!

      • joejoe5709

Dang, really? I think I’m lucky to get 25 cents from Google Rewards surveys. But I do get them fairly often – maybe once a week or so. Either way, it paid for a couple IAP’s and this icon pack. 🙂

      • Adam Martinez

I’ve never gotten one, so don’t feel too bad.

      • cns2007

Interesting. I average one a week. They range from 16 to 50 cents.

      • deadpenguins

My friend’s sister has like 25 dollars saved up that she’ll likely never use. I used to think my 1-2 dollars a week was lousy, but it looks like she’s just incredibly lucky and I’m slightly lucky. It’s all relative…

        • michael arazan

Since I signed up from day 1 of DL reporting it, I have made over $20, sometimes if you read into the questions you’ll see it may be a loaded question and will ask you more questions if you answer it so it will continue the questioning and hence more credits. I did that once by answering something yes when I meant no and answered 8 more questions. Guess it depends on how honest you want to be or how many credits you want to get. I did it once by accident without thinking, but I get 2 surveys a week, and stay pretty honest.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

You guys really love Icon packs. I’ve never really delved into them, maybe I should a bit more.

    • Personal preference, fo sho. We just love teh wallpapers and pretty colorz.

    • Ray

Yeah I wonder if I can make some cash off of making icon’s lol

    • K

      It’s an addiction

    • joejoe5709

When you’re really really bored, a new wallpaper and a slick new icon pack to match it can improve your outlook on your day. It’s kinda fun looking at all the new icons and stuff. I mean it’s not as extreme as a completely new ROM or anything. It’s a little bit like buying your car a set of new wheels to go with the spiffy new paint job.

      • Great comparisons my friend. Have an upvote.

  • H Class

    Dope as usual.
