Miss Motorola’s Press Event at MWC? Don’t Worry, You Can Watch the Replay Now

motorola logo

Last week, Motorola held a 30 minute event in Barcelona at MWC, where three Moto executives sat down and answered questions about the company’s future, success, and acquisition by Lenovo. The event was not streamed for the masses, so we know there are plenty of people who have no idea what exactly the execs talked about.

Motorola has been kind enough to throw together the below video, in which you can sit down and watch the full event unfold.

As mentioned, it’s sort of long and doesn’t really provide too much insider info that wasn’t already written up last week. For example, they announced that a new Moto X is coming, the company has plans for wearables, and MotoMaker was launched internationally.

Have a watch below.

Actually listening to this is fascinating. It seems like on one hand they’re trying to say that the fast updates had nothing to do with being at Google, so not being a part of Google won’t get rid of them. While at the same time, they are trying not to say that Lenovo won’t just decide to throw that out the window.

Breezing through these comments makes me miss downvoting more so then i did…fkn disquis

    • Adrynalyne

Downvoting still exists, it just doesn’t give you a numeric count.

After reading a lot of articles on the Lenovo Motorola deal I feel optimistic about the whole thing. It’s been stated many times that the new direction of Motorola was done internally and that their almost vanilla skin will continue which will aloow for fast updates. Since Lenovo already has a few assembly plants in the US, I think Moto Maker is here to stay. Perhaps Moto X2 will finally give us an above average camera on a Motorola phone. My Moto X camera is good but not as good as the competition.
This is Lenovo’s chance to become a major player world wide in the smart phone/tablet business. With all the good reviews of the Moto X I don’t see Lenovo messing with it too much.

    • calculatorwatch

I agree, everyone is being way too pessimistic about this deal. Sure Lenovo is just another chinese company but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re gonna go all Samsung and LG and start making it bigger and messing with the skin right away. What Moto is doing is working and Lenovo recognizes that or else they wouldn’t have bought them.

The one big concern for me is who they get to replace Dennis Woodside. We’ve seen the difference between Moto under Dennis and Moto under Sanjay Jha. Leadership is gonna play the biggest role in their future success.

      • Ralph Bretz

Excellent point regarding the CEO changes. That was mentioned in one of the WSJ articles I read. It was said that under previous leadership that there was a few Android factions in Motorola that were constantly competing with each other and there was no harmony. Woodside fixed that right away. Hopefully the next CEO will keep Motorola heading in the right direction.

I LOVE MY MOTO X. The best phone EVER. Screw you LG and Samsung. Nothing comes to close to MOTO X. Such a masterpiece and the spec just trumphs anything LG and Samsung offers. Even a Moto RAZR is better than the stupid LG and Samsung phones.

    • Kevin

      Moto X phone. Best phone.

    • Nexoduss

Hey buddy if you wanna jerk off to your x do it in your own privacy. Typical moto fanboy. Can’t wait until they flop once Lenovo takes over.

      • The Narrator

But they won’t, so jokes on you.

        • Nexoduss

Okay get back to me when they are anywhere near samsung, apple, LG etc. You get the point. I used to love them but if the X can’t bring them back, nothing will. They will always have their niche just never be on top.

          • needa

why does any of that crap matter? the ranking of the company within society is how you choose to buy your phone? i feel for ya bud.

      • morteum

There are lots of Moto-fanboys here. You don’t need to be a dick.

        • rawr

I guess they will have to change the website to Lenovo-Life now.

      • http://batman-news.com chris_johns

        stop it

    • Chris

      Get a life

    • http://batman-news.com chris_johns

I mean i agree the moto x is the best phone out…but u cant go on a fanboy rant like that…i think build quilty and the fact its pure android basically trumps your other mentions but you cant negate what LG has done at least…if they make the lg g2 with build quality of a moto or htc thats a phone to take a look at(even the nexus 5 is there) samsung i wont give a second look until they stop dwelling on apple in everthing they do fkn pathetic

  • Roy Gudiño

was expecting a beauty pageant :(

    • Chris

Samsung already had that with the S4 launch

  • DaneCWelborn

I thought that there was event to crown Miss Motorola.

  • bboyairwreck

Or we could have just asked Bionic/Godzilla what they said…. /s

    • Blue Sun

Per Sarge? Assuming he is still employed there.

      • calculatorwatch

He should be. It’s not like he gave us any useful info.

        • Thomas O’Brien

I almost pass out reading this…best three posts…

  • Pedro

Is that Miss Motorola on the left?

Sometimes, reading a headline leads you in the wrong direction :)

    • bobbyp

The award for Miss Motorola goes to all of the readers of this forum when Lenovo takes control. I will be buying my first non Motorola device at the end of the month and that leaves me confused.

    • WTF Headlines

Was expecting a younger girl in a skimpy bikini with camel toe, but congratulations to the women in the video even though she looks like Mrs.Motorola

  • enigmaco

It’s sooo hard to say goodbye to yesterday…..

  • Tyrone Biggums

Every time I see an article on Motorola here I sigh. Feels like a bad break up. What could’ve been…

    • Scott

I’m right there with you. Such a sad ending.

      • Chris

yeah, but its time to move on and not cry over a cell phone company. go out. get some fresh air. talk to girls you know…

        • The Narrator

Nobody’s crying, so that’s a stupid thing to say. We’re just disappointed, and we have every right too. After all, we are on an android site.

          • Chris

crying over a cell phone company is silly

          • LiterofCola

            so’s arguing over the internet

        • Kevin

You should follow your own advice.

          • Chris

            Already have

      • PO’d@Google

        Google Catfished all of Us!

    • Stone Cold

Until Motorola/Lenovo releases new product it is too hard to say they are going down the drain. It is all speculation. People need to relax and see what the future becomes.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

I bet this is pretty depressing. . . . I’m trying to erase all the excitement I had for moto out of my system.

    • Nexoduss

Yeah I have one and I just use my note 3 now. It just feels like a different phone since what occurred .

      • Fozzybare

        no it doesnt.

      • Chris

it fells the same as it always has

      • The Narrator

I feel bad for you. We’re all enjoying a smooth android experience.

        • Nexoduss

I’m sorry to tell you douche but my note 3 with beanstown is a much better phone than your x could ever be. I would know since I own both.

          • The Narrator

But that’s the thing, you had to modify it to make it faster. Which is asinine in 2014.

          • MicroNix

Isn’t that one of the things that makes the Android platform great? At least that’s what everyone on this site used to say….

          • The Narrator

Not when Samsung is ruining it. At least HTC, LG, Moto, Oppo, have some sense in them.

          • Nexoduss

Please explain how samsung is ruining android. Selling more than all other oems combined isn’t ruining Anything. Just making it stronger imo

          • Nexoduss

It was faster than the X before the rom. People just wanna hate on samsung and their phones because they’re the best right now. First it was apple and now them. For people who like to modify it’s fine. The fact that I have to buy a Dev version of the X to modify it is asinine to me and you’re a idiot… like always

          • MicroNix

Don’t let him get under your skin. He only posts here to bash on Samsung. We feed the troll too much…

          • Nexoduss

It’s hard when you’re dealing with such a tard

          • The Narrator

It’s called stating my opinion. Plenty of other people do it too.

Oh , were on a Moto article too, bud.

          • Nexoduss

Oh but are we on a moto site. I think not.

          • Cameron E Nelson

Sorry but I’d never want a cheap gimmick of a phone personally. Had the Note 2 and it was a good phone but you never use anything with it. Moto X you use active display all the time and touchless control more than you think. Samsung’s phones just aren’t innovative anymore and put out the same phone with a new name and slightly better and yet unnecessary specs. The S3 was a GREAT phone and the Note 2 was pretty good. The lag that came with it was terrible. Not everyone wants to or knows how to root and essentially change the OS. Moto is awesome because it’s good quality phones for cheap compared to cheap phones for premium. That’s what bugs people about Samsung. Really no need to to freak out because people don’t like Samsung and you do.

          • James_75

This was not my experience at all. I ditched my GNex for an S4 and found it to be quite laggy (touchwiz was awful!), average battery life (although much better than my GNex!), and a screen that I couldn’t see through my polarized sunglasses or really in any bright sun with them off. I also didn’t like the physical home button at all but that’s subjective. So I bought a Droid Maxx and it has “cured” every single problem I had with the S4. I got some really good coin on ebay for the S4 though!

          • LiterofCola

            You sound like an idiot

    • Eric R.

      MotoBlur better not come back

      • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

        MotoBlur?

        • calculatorwatch

          You don’t wanna know…

          • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Lol I know what Moto Blur is. I just don’t know why we’d ever see it again.

          • Eric R.

Because Google no longer owns Moto

          • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

I don’t think that matters really. Their software is good now with all the extras on top of stock…though I don’t think it matters since I think they are dead

        • Chris

it’s a skin that skin haters well hated expect this time they had a reason to hate it. It was bad.

          • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

I know Blur, I was just wondering why he thought it would ever rear it’s ugly head again. It was THE WORST

          • morteum

I highly doubt it will ever return. Why would they go backward? At worst we’ll see some Lenovo nonsense piled in.

        • ddh819

LenoBlur – plus they’ll bring back the android chin

        • Stone Cold

Worst piece of bloatware ever crammed into a android device.
