Deal: HTC 6,000mAh Portable Battery Pack for $25

htc battery pack

HTC’s 6,000mAh Battery Bar is listed on Daily Steals today for a discounted price of $25. The unit retails in HTC’s store for $60 at the moment, so you are looking at a pretty substantial discount. With a 6,000mAh burst of juice, you are look at a couple of full charging cycles for a phone depending on your phone’s battery size.

As a staff, when we travel for events, we can’t live without external/portable chargers like these. You never know when you are going to be without an outlet for some time and these come in handy quite often. These are one of those accessories that I recommend to almost everyone. Keep one in your car, toss it in a bag when you travel, or have your female partner hold one in the bottom of her purse – you never know when you might need some juice.

I bought this exact battery 2 months ago. For 3 times that price :( My life is full of regrets.

  • NexusMan

    THAT’S portable?

  • Kevin R-S

Just buy oem Samsung desktop charger and spare battery on amazon Note2 $15-24 note3 $30+

  • http://infotainmentempire.blogspot.com Rob

Or put one in your own man bag. Yes, I have one. No, I do not take it everywhere I go. :-D

  • Dan

    1A output. No care.

  • http://ThisWeeksBeats.com Deez

Would’ve ordered. But they won’t ship it to my address since its different than my billing…

  • Raven

I love my EZOPower 3-Port 12000mA External Backup Battery Portable Charger that I got for $33 on a Christmas sale. 12000mA rocks and is not much bigger than that 6000mA one. Fortunately, since I have upgrade from a Droid 4 to a Moto X. I have only had to use it once when I was shooting a lot of HD video with my Moto X.

  • ahhh yes

AKLER 5200 only $14 on amazon. bought two weeks ago. and has a flashlight

    • OF

My dirty mind read that as fleshlight, lol. Now that would have been a crazy deal!

  • Nexoduss

Still love my power pack 3000 for my moto x :)

  • punkroyale

    Note: Phone Not Included ;-)

  • Blue Sun

Not a bad price. I like the 10,000 mAh, 2x USB port Anker portable battery I bought about 18 months ago on Amazon for $40 USD. More juice, dual ports to me is worth the $15 USD.

    • Cowboydroid

You can find quite a few 10,000 mah batteries now for about $25-30, especially on sale from Newegg.

      • PrjctArchAngel

Yep the ravpower 14000mah was on sale for $36 with a free car charger not to long ago. Great device and worth the $11 more. Plus with this site their customer service is terrible and they take centuries to ship.

        • michael arazan

and It’s SOLD OUT, dam I need to stay glued to Droid Life through out the day more.

        • Ajzen

Aha, I got the ravpower 10400mah for $25 last december through a promotion. I believe they will have promotions on this product some day.

  • YankInDaSouth

Good deal! Just ordered me one … perfect for those weekend camping trips!

  • merisan

6,000 mAh Limeade is only $30 at Amazon. Great brand and a great device.

    • scastro87

That’s my friend’s company- I bought one and it never worked. Returned for a refund, but never bought another one from Limeade.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Just got one. For $25 can’t complain.

it is an HTC morning. 4 out of 5 stories on HTC alone.

  • Scott in MA

So does this only work with HTC phones or not?

    • The Narrator

Any phone or device that uses micro usb.

      • Blue Sun

The product description states; “… you can connect any micro USB or USB powered device to charge it”

        • The Narrator

          Just helping a brotha out

      • jimt

Or any other type, it just needs regular usb to apple 30 pin or fire”whatever” or anything else that is 5 volt compatible, even a round power plug or add your own adapter. It is basically a 5 volt power supply with a normal usb output.

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

      It works with any phone

    • http://www.theandroidsite.com benmarvin

I have this and the Note 3 and SGS4 refused to charge on it, but my HTC One and Galaxy Nexus worked great with it.

      • jwildman16

Did you try using the USB cable that came with your phone(s)?

        • http://www.theandroidsite.com benmarvin

Actually I haven’t tried that. Just the shorty that came with the battery. I will have to try when I get home, thanks for the idea.

          • ImmaDroid

I know the last update for the GS4 made it so it had better compatibility with 3rd party charges if you haven’t tried it recently. But yea, the GS4 can be funny with certain cables

          • jwildman16

No problem. I have an Anker and it will only charge my GNex with the factory cable and a few others. It seems to be the higher quality cables that work, though I don’t know what really makes the difference.

      • str8loungin

The battery pack and stock cord work perfectly with my Nexus 5 and SG4.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Thought about this for a while but not at $60. Anyone have an Anker? How are they at the different sizes?

    • AbbyZFresh

I have a 6,000mAh Anker and got one out of Amazon for only $20. It’s very well built, high quality and it’s shaped like a small lipstick.

      • Blue Sun

I got the same one for my wife. She loves it. Compact, lightweight, still packs a punch.

    • kaufkin

I’ve got 3 Anker 3E’s between the Wife, Myself, and one I pack as a spare for Jr….. 10,000 MaH of pure goodness. you can Ingress all day, and still have full battery on your phone for the party (where you don’t want the wire in your sleeve.)

only Disadvantage, Slow charge (overnight, typically) but it’s not like it won’t last all day+.

      • Blue Sun

I have the same (or similar) Anker battery. I’ve had it for 18+ months without issue. It’s not a big deal to me, but sometimes charge mine at work, Expect it to take most of the work day to get a full charge. For the size, I think it is to be expected. The downer for me is that you can’t charge a device, while the Anker is charging. My Anker will stop charging on most of my devices when the charged device hits 100%.

        • kaufkin

Bue Sun: opposite is true. Anker 3E (at least) charges the device faster than it charges from most outlets. thus while your phone is charging, your Anker is not. However, when the phone is done charging, then the Anker tops off. if I have only one outlet on wall, I chain ‘em overnight all the time. works fine w/ MotoX.

  • Ken

    I just ordered one myself.

    • punkroyale

      Me too.

    • Nicholas Shaun

      Same here!

  • JDub

No thanks, I have a G2. Good deal though.

    • jimt

Even your G2 or a Maxx will run out of battery after a few days, This will charge you anywhere for a few days more. I have a 12,000 mah that I carry at all times. It works to power a chromecast also.

      • JDub

When and where the hell are you going to be away from a charge source for a few days. Even if I’m camping in the middle of no where, I can plug into my vehicle charger. I don’t need extra bulk in my pockets.

        • jimt

Backpacking in the Sierra’s with the car 20 to 100 miles away. Maybe use a long extension cord?

          • LionStone

Yep, I do have a solario for those trips to the *Sierra :-)

        • http://infotainmentempire.blogspot.com Rob

If you go camping you can’t spare a small amount of space for something like this?

          • JDub

Guess you didn’t get the whole point of it not being needed when I go camping. I don’t want it in my pocket when around town or at work.

          • http://infotainmentempire.blogspot.com Rob

I read your comment about the vehicle charger. I’m talking about in a backpack if your car isn’t readily available. Besides, who is going to run their vehicle just to charge a phone? If you’re driving somewhere, sure, but at a campsite? Anyway, we’ve established you don’t need one. I don’t really need one either, since I never get to go camping or am always near an outlet/USB port.

          • JDub

My truck doesn’t need to be on for my cigarette lighter port to have power, but like you said, each individual has a different need. When I had a GNEX, I would have carried one.

        • Friendo

For a lot of people “middle of no where” does not mean they’re always five feet from their car.

    • Chris

      and?

  • arthur2142

I love that they picture it with a Samsung phone… that said, great deal for a pretty decent size battery pack!

    • http://www.theandroidsite.com benmarvin

Even funnier that the Note 3 and SGS4 won’t recognize it as a valid power source and won’t charge.

      • ImmaDroid

Is that for sure? i was thinking of buying one, but have a GS4

        • http://www.theandroidsite.com benmarvin

Another comment suggested trying a different USB cable than the one provided with the battery. Will have to test later today to see if it works. But for sure it doesn’t work with the short cable that comes with the battery pack.

      • T4rd

That must be an issue with this specific battery pack or cable you’re using then. I use a battery pack with my Note 2 and wife’s GS4 with no issues. This one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AAP2U4Y/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Got it for $24 on sale over the holidays.

      • str8loungin

I have this battery pack and the stock cord and the GS4 recognizes it just fine.

      • Chewy789

I remember one of the recent updates (sometime in November or December) fixed this problem.

    • Cowboydroid

It’s actually a pretty lousy deal. You can find battery packs with twice the capacity for about the same price.
