Samsung’s done little to stem the flow of leaks regarding its next flagship handset, but that’s good news for us. The latest updates from @evleaks lend credence to several rumored features of the Galaxy S4’s successor, and essentially confirm (if there was any doubt) that Samsung will stick to convention and market the new smartphone as the Galaxy S5.

Yesterday, @evleaks posted a screenshot of an image displaying “Galaxy S5.” That should dispense any doubt of the follow-up handset’s name, though in reality there wasn’t much to begin with.

In addition, the leaker shared images of two APKs allegedly extracted from the Galaxy S5, one called “FingerprintService” and the other “3DTourViewer_WQHD_K.” The presence of an application for scanning fingerprints all but confirms rumblings that Samsung would include a biometric reader in its next flagship smartphone, and an app with WQHD graphics indicates the smartphone will sport the rumored 2K screen (WQHD is a display resolution of 2560×1440 pixels).

While it’s always wise to take leaks with a grain of salt, @evleaks has an incredibly solid track record. Of course, with Mobile World Congress right around the corner, we shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out the truth for ourselves.
