Google Hacks Together Five Simple Games for Google Glass to Inspire Developers

The idea of the Explorer program for Google Glass was always to get developers inspired to create awesome apps for the platform. It looks like Google wants to see a lot more from the gamers out there, so they have made five games for Glass and have released them for owners to try out.

The games are very simplistic – one of them involves balancing, another is a type of Fruit Ninja slicing game, and there is also a Duck Hunt-like shooting game. They are very straight forward and just plain ol’ fashion gaming fun.

If you want to get in on the Glass gaming fun, you can download them via the Glassware section on the Glass site right here.

Seriously, F Google Glass. I have no interest in having everybody walking around in a daze watching TV or recording everything they see. It’s enough already…

  • Kevin

The Simpsons made a whole episode about Google Glass lol

  • Trevor

None of those games looked fun.

  • Chris

    oh silly google….

  • alzeis

Why not a real life scavenger hunt game. Using the QR scanner you find things on the hunt list and your time begins when you scan your first item and ends when you scan the last item.

    • alzeis

Ps I’m assuming there is QR scanner or camera onboard

  • Larry Wei

    …mario kart plz…i’m outta shape

Mario kart with real cars, or at an actual go kart track would be awesome with friends all synced together.

Google Glass is going to make one hell of a Boba Fett Bounty Hunter game I bet. If anyone remembers, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, Fett has a Pair on his helmet.

  • INGRESS….. All I need on that $1500 thing

    • Maxim∑

      battery life 5 minutes though

  • Philip J. Fry

The day they lower the price will be a good day.

    • Maxim∑

the day glass works like in the concept video will be a good day to

      • Ian

    • BrianLipp

they will, when it becomes a retail product. The $1500 price is to dissuade regular people from buying it, and only the people who really want to test it buy it.

      • John Legere

This. Need people who are actually interested in helping make it better. No randoms buying it.

        • Chris

Let me wear a huge glass in front of my face….

and no kids. we are done with the days of “coke bottle glasses”

      • Philip J. Fry

That’s why I said “the day”.

    • Raspooty

The Segway of the mobile Internet industry!

  • A really useful game would be something like the shotgun one but to practice aiming your camera at things. I have read many times that it is tough to take pictures in the position you want at first so it could only help.

  • AbbyZFresh

Sounds like desperation to gain more developers if you ask me.

    • John Legere

You keep on trolling Glass, i see.

      • Chris

Because someone doesn’t like glass they are trolling?

    • Menger40

Someday there will be a glass app for checking people’s power levels.

      • Robert Goddard

        I guarantee I’ll be OVER 9000!!!

    • Philip J. Fry

I don’t see this happening anytime soon.

    • John Davids

Google does this all the time. They made mini-games for Chrome and it’s new plug-ins to showcase it’s potential. When you are building a brand new platform that literally has never existed before, it can be exceedingly powerful to give the developer community mini apps / games to showcase whats possible with the platform and spur innovation. Desperation? Hardly. Try brilliant R&D.
