Samsung Begins Seeding Android 4.4.2 Update to Exynos-powered Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900) Units

About a week ago, Samsung began to roll out an Android 4.4.2 update to Galaxy Note 3 devices over in Europe, and it appears the manufacturer is now on a roll. As reported by SamMobile, Samsung is now seeding the update to Exynos-powered variants of the device, model number SM-900N. Most units purchased on a US carrier will feature Snapdragon 800 processors, so we shouldn’t get too excited just yet.

While updates are fantastic, here in America we have four different major carriers who handle updates differently. No word has come yet from any carrier or Samsung as to when US consumers should expect the Kit Kat update, but we hope it’s soon.

Kit Kat brings a few visual changes to the Note 3, as well as more TouchWiz tweaks from Samsung. When playing music, you will notice the fullscreen album art lockscreen effect that Nexus 5 users have been enjoying since its release, but that’s about it.

Once Samsung and US carriers start breaking silence on when users can expect to see an update (if they do at all), we will let you know.

My note 3 battery indicator also turned white with the kitkat upgrade. This appears to be a glitch because it turns yellow and red as the battery wears down but is white rather than green when charged. Small thing but kind of an irritation.

no its the carriers that are the slow evil ones. i bet this version would work on majority of the note 3 phones . Verizon gonna be last as usual cause all the benefits are gonna killed by a SLEW of new bloat ware garbage BEFORE they decide to push it out.

I just want kitkat on my s4 so that the battery indicator on my notification bar is white instead of green. Seems like such a small thing but it would really match the theme I’ve got goin.

Back in November they said Note 3 and gs4 to get 4.4 in January, or first quarter early, and then Note 2 and gs3 by end of the first quarter, from what I read on other sites.

Where are the SAMSUNG IS EEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL comments?

    • Adrynalyne

      Samsung isn’t evil.

      They are slow.

      • dlegendary0ne

        Samsung’s not slow.

        US Carriers are slow.

        • Adrynalyne

They are both slow, don’t kid yourself. Remind me again, when was 4.4.2 released?

          • dlegendary0ne

Lol…Good point, but that’s expected since the Note 3 isn’t a Nexus. It’s still pretty slow though

Wonder if this means the Note 10.1 (2014) will be getting updated with 4.4.2 soon.

Hopefully so but Samsung has usually been pretty sluggish in regards to their tablet updates, despite the presence of no carrier meddling, bloatware, or testing procedures.

Sucks for people who bought this with no LTE. (Yes, i know, alot of places dont have LTE)

Roflcopter that coming from John Legere, Mr 2G everywhere, is hilarious. Say something like, “the most coverage and reliable network” so I can screenshot that ish!
