ASUS is doing a press event in Las Vegas this morning as well, though they decided to do it outside of the official CES press day and are hosting media at Caesars Palace. Since the event also happens to run at the same time as Qualcomm’s, we decided to see what Qualcomm was up to instead. Thankfully, ASUS is streaming the entire event for all to see.

What will we get? Well, it’s looking like the Padfone X on its way to AT&T is officially official. For years, ASUS has tried to bring its Padfone line (phone-tablet-hybrid) to the States, but U.S. carriers haven’t exactly been accepting of the idea that someone could slide a phone into a tablet and continue to use the same data plan. We’ll see how AT&T deals with this (especially in terms of pricing).

The phone sports a 5-inch display, docks into a 9-inch tablet, will connect to AT&T’s LTE Advanced network (when it launches), and takes advantage of VoLTE with HD Voice (when it goes live too).

Other than that, it would be great to see a new tablet from the company that has been one of our favorites in the Android slate game.

The live stream will be posted here. If it’s embeddable, we’ll be sure to include it in this post once it goes live.
