Deal: Nokia Wireless Charging Plate Available for the Discounted Price of $12.25 from AT&T

Wireless chargers are all the rage these days, and it’s easy to see why: the promise of a hastle-free charging experience, one without tangling wires and mono-directional mini-USB ports, is immensely attractive. Unfortunately, the road to an industry standard for wireless charging has been fraught with major missteps; the Power Matters Alliance, the Wireless Power Consortium, and the Alliance For Wireless Power are all vying for market penetration, but in doing so confusing consumers.

Although, sometime this chaos bears fruit in the form of discounts on chargers that don’t sell well! Right now, AT&T is having such a deal on Nokia Wireless Charging Plates.

Right now, you can pick up any Charging Plate for $12.25, which is a 50 percent discount. That price also includes free two-day shipping, which is a major plus.

Here are the instructions on how to buy one, courtesy of Slick Deals:

  1. Click here
  2. Select ‘Shop for accessories’
  3. Select ‘Nokia’
  4. Select one of the Nokia 920 devices
  5. Select the ‘Nokia® Black Wireless Charging Plate’. This is the DT-900 that is $25 on Amazon.
Cheers Scott!

Is this Nokia 920 Wireless charger compatible with the Nexus 7 in terms of size and charging output(like the stock charger is) ? Are there any other wireless chargers that are compatible also that anyone can recommend if I can’t get this one ?

    • Andrew

I’ve got one, and yes, it works fine with the Nexus 7. (of course, it charges slower than using the USB port)

Got mine in black for $24 a month ago. It works great with my N5 I use it every night with my rearth slim case. Phone is cool to the touch in the morning. Warm while charging. Charger has a raised circle in the center which makes it a balancing act when charging the N5 so I grabbed 4 adhesive black rubber bumpers (very thin 1mm) and made a square. Works great!

Phones with a battery that lasts all day or two are all the rage.

    • Big_EZ

I don’t know of any that exist, unless your talking about replacement batteries. I drain the battery on the Note 2 in about 7 hours, my old RAZR Maxx got about the same. On the weekends I’ll get around 36-48 hours.

      • Dave

My Note 2 goes 24-36 hours with about 6-8 hours screen time on a charge. I mostly run apps and a browser, no games that eat up hardcore CPU/GPU.

        • Big_EZ

I get about 5-6 hours screen on time, and rarely play games. My screen stays on a lot while I work, I listen to YouTube videos a lot. I can no longer find the app I use to use to keep youtube playing when I turn off the screen.

Still rocking my Nexus Wireless Charging Orb!

I paid waaay too much for it (considering non-nexus-branded charging orbs are half price on Amazon) to ditch it!

If you’re wondering: I had no issues with adhesion on my N4. I found the trick was to make sure the N4’s back was smudge free and clean, and every now and then I’d use scotch tape to clean the orb itself (like once a month). On the N5, the matte finish on the back actually helps provide EXTRA adhesion (though the orb does sometimes leave a faint ring on the back of the N5, it seems to go away after some time)!

I just picked 1 up from my local AT&T store. They said its an online deal but they still fulfilled the discount. $12.90 after taxes. Not bad

    • Rory Green

Were they nice about it? Thinking about going myself..

      • Rocketjrb

Yup. I handed them my phone with the AT&T website showing the price. She verified with the manager and 1 min later I was paying the discounted rate.

The charging plates are our of stock, but I just got the pillow for $30. Still a good deal!

  • I hope you know, Kyle, that you’re not supposed to post deals that are already out of stock

  • JRomeo

This deal appears dead……….. any other Qi chargers out there for similar price with free shipping?

  • RGiskard

Stinks that they are OOS. I bought one for about $15 via a previous ATT deal and love it for my N5. It lacks the batteries of the Nexus charging plate and is a bit larger overall, but it is actually easier to position the phone on this charger than the Nexus one. For some reason the Nexus charger is picky about how you position the phone.

  • Futbolrunner

    Whooooo areee youuuu?

    • Dee Mann

      exactly what i was thinking

    • aBabyPenguin

    • I love WRX’s!

      • Futbolrunner

Me too! lol I just bought my second STI, an 07. I can’t say I’m too fond of the ’15’s, I guess it’ll grow on me. Thumbs up for another rex lover!

        • You aren’t from New England are you? That picture looks familiar lol

          • Futbolrunner

Im from MD, right outside of DC. A friend took that picture of my car back when I had my 05. It looked really good so it just stuck. Im waiting on some real snow so I can have some fun making bad decisions lol

  • Steve B

Yeah, sooooo, these are completely out of stock FYI.

  • Dee Mann

Come on now Kyle…this has been dead for quite some time now…what kind of journalist are you…do not get readers hopes up until you’ve done some research!

    • ferrari187

      just cool it down, bro

  • Detonation

You’re about 18 hours late to the party and they’re all out of stock. They may allow you to add it to the cart but it will tell you out of stock when you try to checkout

  • A.Miller

Will this work w/ the Nexus 5?

    • BrianRoskamp

It’ll work with any phone that follows the Qi standard, including the N5 and G2.

      • LionStone

But only the G2 on Verizon has wireless charging.

  • Zargon

I purchased 5 of these a couple of weeks ago thanks to a thread on XDA. Some for me, some for gifts. Anyway they charge the Nexus 5 well. They also charge the Nexus 7, but the plate seems a little too small for it.

    • Philip J. Fry

That’s what I did but I got 3. Hell of a good deal imo

  • KenBarnum

Do these work for Nexus 5?

    • Zargon

  • DanielRedOak

Out of stock on all colors 🙁

  • jmasterj

Dead for these plates. The FatBoy pillows might still be in stock for $30.

  • eric1743

I’m getting errored out at checkout saying all colors are out of stock (black, red, white, yellow).
