The latest app for Motorola’s Moto X and new DROID line (ULTRA, MAXX, and Mini) to hit Google Play is called “Motorola Contextual Services,” an app that is used to help keep other Motorola apps updated. This app in particular provides “core” functionality for the drive, meeting, and sleep detection pieces of Motorola Assist and Touchless Control. In other words, there aren’t any front-facing activities or features for you to play with as you update this app, but it does help out with some of Motorola’s new app collection.

For example while using Assist or Touchless Control after this update, you’ll now receive support for Bluetooth driving detection.

Here is the description of the app from Motorola:

Motorola Contextual Services helps in keeping your Motorola applications updated using the Google Play Store. This component provides core functionality to features such as drive, meeting and sleeping detection for applications like Motorola Assist and Motorola Touchless Control.

Note: Motorola Assist and Motorola Touchless Control may not work if you uninstall Motorola Contextual Services.

If you own a Moto X or new DROID device, you should have an update for Contextual Services waiting for you on Google Play.
