Cyber Monday Deal: Newegg has the LG G Pad 8.3 for $249

The Cyber Monday deals aren’t over just yet, with Newegg selling LG’s new G Pad 8.3 flagship tablet for as little as $279 $249. This tablet, the first for LG since that terrible 3D thing they did a few years back, is normally priced at $349. I’d call that a heck of a deal, especially for a tablet that is a lot like the LG G2, only in tablet form.

For those new to the G Pad 8.3, you are looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 8.3-inch full HD IPS display (1920×1200), microSD slot, dual cameras, 16GB of internal storage, and Android 4.2.2 (under LG’s skin). You’ll also find quick pairing with almost any device, but this pairing allows you to see incoming calls and texts through your tablet. The tablet features many of the multi-tasking options found on the G2 as well.

Newegg has the tablet in white for $249 as long as you use coupon code “CYBERMND16” during checkout. If you want the black version, you’ll have to head to Best Buy who has it for $299.

Update:  Realized after I posted that a coupon code saves you another $30 off, dropping it to $249. Post has been fixed.

Cheers David!

This tablet is awesome. I only had it for about a week because I really wanted the Nexus 10 but didn’t want to spend $4-500 on something that was gonna be replaced by a new version any day. I was trying to hold out until the new one came out, but then Staples lowered the price of the 32gb Nexus 10 to $399 and had a $50 off tablet special, so I had to pull the trigger and get the Nexus 10 for the same price as the LG ($349). I’m really glad I did because, although I think the 8 inch size is the perfect size because of the combined screen size and portability, in the end, I just wanted the biggest, brightest, most beautiful screen around with one of the fastest and smoothest Android experiences around. The LG was just as fast and smooth, if not more, than the Nexus 10, but in the end, I just really preferred the 10 inch screen and the LG ‘s screen was just too dim. If there was one negative thing I noticed about the LG, it was that the screen was just way too dim, even at full brightness, and the speakers sounded kind of cheap, like the sound was coming out of an aluminum can or something. Lol. Also, i paired my GS3 with the LG but never received any of my texts on the tablet. I don’t know why it didn’t work because I paired them exactly as it says and it even said, on both devices, that they were paired, but it still wouldn’t work. I’m guessing maybe it didn’t work with the texting app that I use (Handcent), at least that’s the only thing I could think of. Everything else about the LG was just pure awesomeness. It was super smooth and had alot of really cool customization features that I wish the Nexus 10 had such as customizing the soft keys with options like how many (3-6), where you want them and the color of the soft keys background. I highly recommend the LG to anyone that wants something bigger than a 7, but smaller than a 10. I also tried out the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 before the LG, and it pales, in comparison. The LG is noticeably faster and smoother, with a much, much more beautiful screen. You can see the pixels throughout on the Galaxy Tab, when you can’t see any pixels on the LG unless you put your face right on the screen. It’s like transitioning from sd TV to hd TV.. Not even close.

Beautiful tablet, and it has the best specs out there… BUT it’s made by LG, the last tablet they made LG Slate came out with Honeycomb… and the last update was Honeycomb. I’d past on this deal because LG is horrible at support. Don’t expect Kitkat on this bad boy… ever.

Lol you weren’t expecting a Google play edition were you haha

  • chris125

Good deal but still stick with the nexus 7 simply for updates right away. That and I actually like the 7″ form factor a little more than 8″

  • MichaelFranz

I want this….but i need an LTE version

  • MotoRulz

I don’t own one but I must say this tablet is beautiful, waiting for the Nexus 10 though.

    • StuckOnVerizonForever

      Yeah. Can’t pass on a SD805 and 4K

Great deal at $249. S600 is plenty capable. Forcing myself to hold out for the next Nexus 10 though.

Hows this tablet? Does the feature to have text messages sent to the tablet work with any phone?

Best Android tablet I’ve ever owned. It’s even better now because we’ve got a custom recovery and bootloader work around. Now we don’t have to depend on LG anymore! Best part is, I’m maintaining the recovery and starting work on CM.

And yes it works with any phone. I have it working with my DROID DNA.

At this price, this tablet is an absolute steal.

That is awesome, what site can I find your work? XDA? I can’t wait to start tinkering. If it is anything like the G2, I’m going to be happy with it.

      • Jeremy Gross

u my friend are a revolutionizer if you can make CM for this tablet (and keep the features)

        • mustbepbs

Wouldn’t be able to keep Knock On if that’s what you’re asking.

          • Jeremy Gross

            unfortunately 🙁

    • droidify

Yes. The share features are supposed to work with any android phone.

    • Scottyb112

I use Mighty text app. it works pretty good for linking the phones texts to the tablet. I would assume Google Hangouts as well

  • droidify

It’s actually 249.99. Use promo code CYBERMND16 for another $30 off

    • I was just going to say the same thing, at $250 it’s a steal!

      • droidify

Yep. I bought 2 of the black before they sold out. Can’t beat the price.

    • Indeed it is! Updated post!

      • mustbepbs

Are you guys ever gonna do a review?

      • JP

Check out on the mobile site or app using code “MBLCM10” for an extra 5% off. I’m passing as my note has better battery life and multi-tasking but its still a great deal!

      • mustbepbs

I’ll take that as a no.

Thanks for getting back to me, DL.
