Cyber Monday Deal: Amazon has All Sorts of Phones for a Penny, Like the LG G2 in White or Moto X

amazon cyber monday phones

Amazon might be the king of Cyber Monday deals, but that’s no surprise if you consider the variety of products that can be purchased through their online shop. I will say, that it can often times be somewhat overwhelming to sift through, especially on days like today where all you want to do is find the best possible deals to spend your hard earned money on. So to hopefully help you out some, we have gone ahead and cruised through the phone listings of Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint to find you the best deals available.

In the lists below, you’ll see phones like the brand new white LG G2, Moto X in either black or white, and HTC One in a handful of colors for as little as $0.01 on new contract. You’ll also find the Nexus 5 for Sprint in either black or white for as little as $9.99 on contract.

The full retail prices can’t match what Motorola is doing today or what Google does everyday, but this is certainly an option for those who don’t mind signing a new contract.

In for 1 for RETAIL @ 399 – (19% Corp discount/added 2 months to already extended dumb phone line.)
then I wanted 1 for the wife, she was fine with 6gb Max plan from Unlimited.
Verizon would not budge on upping her upgrade 60 days from the gnex.

FAWK VERIZON! – I opened a new line to get one for the wife and will pay the ETF.
I even bent to them taking the hit and 6gb data plan too.

2 White LG G2s incoming both still unlimited data suckas!

What did you have to do to get the 6gb Max plan? I’d be fine with that. I think I’ve gone over 6gb once in my life, and that was when I was tethering for a month.

  • http://www.mecha-digital.com/ Jason@MechaDigital

There have been rumors floating around about Verizon honoring the 6GB deal from Edge to no edge users. Anyone have any thoughts on whether I’d be able to get in on this deal from Amazon, then call Verizon customer service and have them do the 6gb when I activate the phone?

  • anon

plus the upgrade fee and darn CA tax makes it $100 still. ugh o well wife is nagging me for one lol.

  • SplashMTN

I just bought a G2 for $50 last week. Definitely worth the $50, but it would’ve been nice to get it for a penny.

  • Eric Cappa

How is that a deal? You are still on the hook for $629!!! They just stretch out the balance of the phone.

G2 is only $499 on Verizon

  • Fiorta

    Hmm…

Ok I have three lines, 2 with unlimited and 1 feature phone with no data. All 3 have upgrades available. Someone walk me through getting two new phones on Verizon and somehow keep everything as it is

    • http://twitter.com/geoff5093 Geoff Johnson

Doubt you could do that without adding another line.

    • Chippah

Upgrade the dumb phone line to g2.
when it comes in, pop in the sim of your line you want the G2 on.
Go to vzw website and take off ALL data plans on the dumb phone,
      PROFIT unlimited data.

    No T-Mobile?

Just picked my stepdad up a Moto X with this deal.

I need confirmation on this from a current Verizon employee [so you can save me a phone call ;-)].

If I were to get the white G2 for free on contract (I have an unlimited data plan right now) on a second line, cancel it and keep the phone, do I just pay the $350 ETF? I see that Verizon is offering no activation fees as well, so I wouldn’t lose that. I can’t seem to find anything other than the $350 ETF for advanced devices on Verizon’s website. Am I missing something or does this seem like a smart move?

    • chris125

yes you would only pay the $350 and possibly a prorated service charge (usually like a quarter month, possibly less depending on when you deactivate it)

      • http://infotainmentempire.blogspot.com Rob

Thanks. I figured a prorated service charge would be the only addition, I’m just really wanted to make sure this was a possibility. The next challenge is getting my wife on board but she probably will say no so I don’t even know why I’m bothering with this right now lol.

        • http://twitter.com/geoff5093 Geoff Johnson

Haha, we’ll I’m thinking about doing the same thing. I’m just nervous they’d end up charging me a whole month, which would be something like $100+.

I tried this morning. Filled out everything online as if I were a new customer. They sent me an email and said it couldn’t be completed, and I would need to call. Called them and they asked if I was starting a new line. I said yes, and she said it’s against policy for one customer to have two accounts. She said I could always create a sublevel on my current account. Which means if I had a son, i can create this sublevel and he could be responsible for billing somehow. That’s as far as I got now. Trying to decide if it’s worth the hassle..

      • http://infotainmentempire.blogspot.com Rob

Thanks for responding. I actually meant a second line on my existing account. I didn’t get the approval from the wife to do this so now it’s all moot to me. Lol

      • http://twitter.com/geoff5093 Geoff Johnson

Thanks for the info, I’m glad I didn’t waste time trying to get two accounts in my name. I don’t want to risk losing my unlimited data single line by converting it to a family plan, not worth the risk IMO.

If I switch carriers to Verizon from ATT and transfer my number, will I still be able to use my att phone until I get the Verizon phone or will my line be immediately cut off?

  • randompsychology

If only we could somehow use this deal to do an early upgrade on a line :(

  • Ben Murphy

    Off contract?? =)

  • DisGuy

Has anyone ever successfully upgraded a line using Amazon but still kept unlimited? I’m referring to the trick in this post http://www.droid-life.com/2013/09/17/keep-unlimited-data-verizon-upgrade/ (option 2, second method) but using Amazon instead of Verizon online.

    • laheelahee

you can only transfer upgrades at: Verizon, Costco, Best Buy

    • El_Big_CHRIS

I’d like to know as well. I have an upgrade on a like with unlimited and a dummy line on contract. I want to transfer it and keep my unlimited

      • DJ

I did this a month ago. Transferred my upgrade from my unlimited data phone to my second line, upgraded and activated on my second line. Contract was extend on my first line but I kept my unlimited.

People are saying you will lose your unlimited doing what I did because the contract is extended on my line, but that wasn’t the case for me. Ive done this with two other plans and they both worked as well. Just make sure to activate the phone on the second line before you swap out sims.

        • El_Big_CHRIS

Were you able to do it with a 3rd party retailer like Amazon? I’d like to take advantage of the penny offer. Let me know. Thanks

          • DJ

I did mine though verizon. I don’t think it is possible with amazon. I have read that some individuals say that they were successful at best buy and costco as well.

  • cgalyon

Have they done any discounting of the off-contract prices?

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

      Amazon doesn’t do that.

    • chris125

Sadly off contract prices rarely get discounted, especially from third party retailers like amazon.

    • DJ SPY

Off contract prices are cheaper on the Verizon website.
