T-Mobile Galaxy S4 Receiving Android 4.3 Update Today

samsung galaxy s4 google play edition

The T-Mobile Galaxy S4 is receiving its Android 4.3 update today. No, this isn’t Kit Kat. You would need a “4” in there to replace the “3.” But either way, it’s an update! Owners of the T-Mo variant of Samsung’s 2013 flagship will be bumped up to build M919UVUEMK2 after taking in the 781MB update.

The update, even with its hefty size, is still pretty minor in terms of a changelog. According to T-Mobile, the update introduces Galaxy Gear support (take advantage, 5 people) and includes Samsung’s KNOX mobile enterprise security software.

In order to pull the update, you’ll need to be on stock, unrooted Android 4.2.2 (build M919UVUAMDL) with at least 50% battery. The update should be available through Kies or over-the-air (OTA).

If you pull it, let us know how it goes!

    Hi all,

I recently switched to galaxy s4 from blackberry, I’m wondering if, like on blackberry, I must do a complete backup of all data and all my apps before I do a os upgrade? If I don’t will I lose my apps etc.?

How could I do a complete backup on my data, apps etc. ? Could anyone direct me to a guide, instructions how to do such a backup?

    Thanks in advance

Is there any battery drainage going on in thr T-mobile version after the update? I haven’t updated because people have reported that and I’m not willing to risk my phones battery life.

“Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition Getting Android 4.4 Today” & “T-Mobile Galaxy S4 Receiving Android 4.3 Update Today”. Something is wrong with this picture.

      4.4 hasn’t been (Touch)whizzed on yet.

I can’t wait to see jank on KitKat.

Nice….face down on a concrete slab! That’s the Kellen we all know.

    781MB? Yikes. That’s a lot of Touchwiz.

G2 rom is 1.5gb. Talk about bloat.

      • Pdiddy187

Holy mackerel. What is the rom partition 3GB?

        Works flawlessly too.

I know it does. I wasn’t hating, but if you go digging into the stock rom there are tons of useless files, wallpapers, themes, fonts etc. from old LG builds that aren’t even available to use. I have the G2 and it’s the first phone I haven’t immediately installed a custom rom on. The customization’s are sick and it’s smooth as butter.

This is just an update too, the OS itself is a lot larger!

    Does anyone actually use KIES?

It’s not listed in T-Mobile’s changelog, but as the second screenshot shows, us T-Mobile S4 users are finally getting apps-to-SD!

Can anybody tell me what the specific visual upgrades to Touchwiz are?

    • Adrynalyne

      Jank 2.0.

    • StuckOnVerizonForever

Looks cleaner, better than previous ones
