Friday App Sales: Modern Combat 4, Doodle Devil, GO Launcher Prime, DocumentsToGo

google play logo

It’s Friday, which means you might need a few new apps or games to keep you busy over the weekend. But don’t worry, there are a ton of app sales taking place right on Google Play, so let’s see what we have. For starters, the epic FPS Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is on sale for just $0.99, down from $7. That’s a steal. GO Launcher Prime, a very popular third party launcher is also on sale for $4, as well as DocumentsToGo for $10, which is usually $15. Not too bad at all.

To see the full list of sales, check below.

Dumb question… every Friday I look for this page and I can’t find it :( instead of me finding the deals on Monday, how can i find it on friday? :P Thank you

  • Leonardo Rojas

Sorry for asking this again, I’m confused:

Isn’t there going to be apps on sale in this Google anniversary like there was last year?
There isn’t a word of celebration in the Play Store :(
Last year I purchased a dozen of apps for $0.25 each.
    What am I missing?

    Thanks!

What’s weird is that Gameloft has taken out of sight MC4 for my Razr i from the Play Store, but I have it runing on my device O.o
How? I installed the version they gave me for my Xperia Pro a year ago, I’d been playing with that version on my Razr i for months, I even received the “meltdown” update and it’s running perfectly :/ Silly Gameloft.
I’ve bought it from the Play Store anyway installing it in another device. Now I have it ready for when I update to the Xperia Z Ultra ^-^

  • tu3218

I’d like to pick up MC 4 but like the rest of them that I bought for .99 cents, I’ll play it that day and not touch it again. I just haven’t found success with touch screen shooting games.

    • FknTwizted

i believe it has a plug in play with ps3 controller, i could be wrong. Sorry N7 rooted and have sixaxis app.

    • michael arazan

Best bet to root with six axis and sync to a ps3 controller, and if you can use an adapter, mhl/ hdmi and plug it into your HDTV

      • Leonardo Rojas

I’d like to try playing with a PS3 controller with the SIXAXIS app too, but have no problems with the touch controls and currently, I play connecting the smartphone to my 5.1 sound system… it’s wonderful! n.n
I used to connect it to my 3D TV too through HDMI, I looked nice, but couldn’t play well. It’s better with the great 5.1 sound than with the big screen for me n.n

    • Leonardo Rojas

Buy it for later! It’ll be there for you.

  • Mr E

Is MC4: Zero Hour the same as the regular MC4? I got it for free from Moga, but not sure if they offer the updated version.

    • Leonardo Rojas

Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is part of the Modern Combar series, there’s only one MC4. “Zero Hour” is just its theme’s name. Yeah :/
      As follows n.n
      Modern Combat: Sandstorm
      Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus
      Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation
      Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour
      Modern Combat 5 (upcoming *-*)

  • T_Dizzle

Thanks for the heads up! MC4 on the nexus 10 this weekend.

    • mustbepbs

Good luck with the horrid lag and low frames per second.

      • T_Dizzle

Not on mine player, works like a dream. I must have received the juiced edition.

  • Josh

Unnggghh…. why does MC4 have to be almost 2 gigs?

    • Frettfreak

yeah.. and most phones with only 16gb… just dont get it..

      • Leonardo Rojas

Storage has never really been a problem for me n.n thanks to a marvelous app, the best of all apps haha…
Which phone do you have? Maybe it works on yours too. Mine is the Motorola Razr i n.n

    • Leonardo Rojas

NOVA 3 is almost 2.6GB n.n But it’s worth it as MC4 is, isn’t it?

  • clobberedchina

That’s odd. Just bought Talisman Prologue HD on my laptop and the Google Play Store did not ask for my password. Tried the Nexus 7 and it asks for a password before a purchase. Hmmm…

  • Luiz7955

Just got MC 4 for my new Nexus 7. Thanks!

I liked Go Launcher back in the day but it’s become so overly bloated it’s hard to tolerate anymore. It doesn’t need to have its own ‘marketplace.’ Also, it always bugged me that after you install it, if you go to your ‘Installed’ themes and pick one, it takes you to the Play Store to download it. Ytf is it in the Installed tab if it’s not installed?

    • Leonardo Rojas

GO Launcher has nice Themes and widgets, but, the latter makes Go Launcher be as heavy as a cow! I guess only medium to high end smartphones can enjoy it without sacrificing much. I use to recommend Smart Launcher, it’s much better for me, for any kind of smartphone and it’s lightweight as a feather always n.n You should try it if you haven’t already. Try it with its Transparency theme n.n

  • trixnkix637

I got the documentstogo full for 10 cents back on an Amazon sale. Now that’s a steal!

    • Tim242

Except you have to keep the awful bloated Amazon App Store on your phone.

      • Angie

        that’s a scam.

    • gambit07

So did I but then found out Amazon almost never updates their apps after trying to get updates a few times in the last year. I just switched to Quickoffice instead.

      • Adrynalyne

They are pretty good about keeping SwiftKey updated, so it is probably the fault of the developer, not Amazon.

        • gambit07

          Very well could be

        • zurginator

It could be like the whole Steam vs XBOX Live thing. We know Google doesn’t really restrict devs – I wonder if Amazon is more stringent.

        • Big_EZ

Well when the vast majority got your app for free, where is the incentive to keep it updated. I first got SwiftKey as the free app of the day, but ended up buying it on the play store because it never got updated. I guess that’s changed, but that was one of the apps that made me uninstall the Amazon app store.
