The Droid Life Show: Episode 36

dl logo show2

We are back in action tonight for episode 36 of The Droid Life Show. We were able to grab some of our staff away from Grand Theft Auto V (wasn’t easy), and are ready to discuss the recent happenings in Android. Tonight, we will cover topics such as the recent development inside the CyanogenMod world, a recently recovered Nexus 5 that made a debut on YouTube, our LG G2 review, the updated Google Wallet app (spoiler: we adore it), and what we are having for National Cheeseburger Day. Yes, it’s a real thing that should be celebrated.

The show kicks off around 6:00PM Pacific (9:00PM Eastern). A live video broadcast will be embedded below closer to the start of the show. Until then, feel free to hang out in the Droid Life IRC room.

    AT&T sells the 32gb Moto X for $629, not $579. The 16gb version is $579.

Fly like a G2.. so good

  • Bill Hill

    Fly like a G2..

ahh damn verizon not getting nexus 5 but… I guess i’ll upgrade to the G2, still using the gnex though I would like to go play it with it @ verizon & of course waiting to see what roms will be out for it maybe idk…

  • Brady KEITH

“Hop on my front pegs….let’s do this!”

  • Carlos Lopez

Who was your first starter should be a new pole question

    • JoshGroff

Charmander, and I second this poll.

  • Rob Delaney

Even if the installer was $0.99 or $1.99 it would still get downloaded by the 8 million REGISTERED users without a question to the price. So then you have the unregister and then the average consumer here and there when their geek/nerd friends show them a S4 with near stock OS instead of Touchwiz. I would easy pay up to $9.99 for it with free updates.

  • MikeSaver

I’d get the G2 if it ran stock android and had side buttons

    • Steve Ballmer

I’d get it if Verizon didn’t go and change the design. They ruined it.

Is that including the moto money?

      • Alexander Garcia

        Ron: “Moto X! Moto X! Moto X!”

  • Techneval

When are we gonna have a contest on here to have a reader join in on a special Droid-life episode. I’m sure it would be much appreciated.

    • I kinda like this idea.

      • s23

It’s my dream to be on the DL show, but I would never have the guts to show my face to the interwebz. Is there someway you guys could have a call in feature?

      • Techneval

Id be more than happy to volunteer my services for the good of the show.

    • CaptainHowdy13

So long as said reader has a giant mic to talk into like Kellen

    • Steve Ballmer

As long as the reader isn’t Godzilla (aka Bionic) then that sounds like a cool idea.

  • Daeshaun Griffiths

Throw a little moto x in there and i’m in. Maybe the dev edition we’ve been waiting “days” for.

    • Gnex

If by some miracle the Nexus 5 comes to Verizon, I’m going to throw my Moto X off of the highest building I can find.

      • Daeshaun Griffiths

my lord. If the n5 doesn’t have touchless control, active notifications, or advanced motion tracking i’m….not throwing my moto x…

But if the camera update fails to impress, it’s clobbering time!!!

        • Gnex

Apparently, the camera improvements are pretty significant. Someone said they managed to install the new camera apk ON THE VERIZON VARIANT!!!11!!1!!!1!!

          • Daeshaun Griffiths

I just linking you to that.

Should get the Average Joe’s opinion on the show especially talking about carriers and devices.
