Motorola Drops Another “Lazy Phone” Ad, This Time Tackles Bedazzling

“We’re like sisters!”

  • findjaysee

I love this! Great commercial. lol

  • joejoe5709

Lol. TJ Miller was the perfect choice for this. Robert Downey Jr. was a waste of money.

  • droidrazredge

This ad mercilessly mocks and trolls the iFail 5C. Well played Motorola well played.

    • trd105

No coincidence why this one was saved until after the iphone colors announcement.

      • LionStone

You want colors, We got colors! Boom!

  • Robert E. Epperson

my Aunty Nora recently got Toyota Camry just by part-time work from a home pc. official source….J0BS95. C0M

  • MichaelFranz

wanna get my droid maxx but best buy doesnt have it yet for some reason….none of them….

i cant go to verizon because my scheme to burn an upgrade wont work there…

    • droidrazredge

How does that scheme work at Best Buys ? Inquiring minds would like to know :).

      • MichaelFranz

how do I know everyone is not a verizon spy and wants to close my loophole?

        • droidrazredge

because I took the red pill and not the blue pill so I can get out of Verizon’s Matrix World of trying to keep me from having unlimited data. Send me in a PM then :).

          • MichaelFranz

ok you pass a nerd test…lol its not really a sure shot, but since you can upgrade through retailers outside of verzion, lets say best buy in my case, I am going to have them upgrade my line and then attempt to switch the line back to a tablet, if best buy cant do it, then I just call verizon and say that the best buy employee said I could…

it requires some whining to get your way but it should work…it has in the past just when changes were happening.

I also called to complain a few times that I should be allowed to use my upgrades since my contract was in place before the changes and VZW agreed but said they could do nothing about it and I could “write a letter” to an address and they would address it. However one time i did call the CS rep i spoke to must not have been trained up and I asked him if i could upgrade and switch my lines back and he said sure no problem….so I have a few chips I can use. If it works im psyched.

I also know it is kind of cheating their new system, but to be honest I feel as if upgrades should be treated as rewards for keeping 2 yr contacts and such. Now if they want to make changes within the 2yr period that is fine but it shouldnt go into effect on that line until that 2yr service is altered and or upgrade is used. all supervisors and upper mgmt people i spoke with agreed (naturally because they wouldnt tell a customer no) but one guy wasn’t a by the book guy and said I have a shot if I wrote that letter so I may do that for my second upgrade I have sitting there.

its annoying because their tablets are crap (IMO) and even with an upgrade there is no discounted price otherwise id sell the tablets and buy a phone that way. All tablets are retail price unless vzw has a sale in which case the sale price usually requires 2 yr agreement

    Who is the actress?

hey if your gonna wish go big! i wish motorola made a nexus device that could be built using moto maker and you had options for bigger battery without adding bulk to the phone, options for 64gb and 128gb memory, and it only cost $350. now thats a wish!

    • I don’t sharing name with you

And I wish that it would come with Google Glass and a winning Powerball ticket hidden inside! O, and a Tesla S customized with moto maker!

Nexus device customized using moto maker, maybe.
Bigger battery without adding bulk, thats not how this type of battery works.
Options for 64gb and 128gb memory, sure, lets do that.
Bottom 2 and still only $350…really?

      • David Narada Brown

yea my wishes arent really realistic. but thats y there wishes!

  • John Davids

I am still really liking this ad campaign. Although, Gammabot makes a good point:

“It’s funny, but is it going to get them off their tractors?”

    • TheDrizzle

Seeing how many people are flipping out over the new iPhone colors, I would say it’s desired. Will it get people to switch to an Android from an iPhone? Probably not. Will it get people on Android to switch to Motorola? Indeed.

wish the motomaker AT&T exclusive would end…

Maybe they finally admitted that it was not only bad decision they made the Atrix but made it with biometric fingerprint ID =p

    • sc0rch3d

it’s not all that great if you want a phone with 3 colors. I’ve tried every combination of red / white / blue and each one looks slightly off.

However, it looks great if you want to mimick the look of the supposed dev edition.

  • storm33x

    These commercials are hilarious!

  • BRIM

The AT&T exclusivity is damn stupid.

    • michael arazan

Moto should just refund ATT’s money and start selling it already

  • YinzerRob

they made a bad move on twitter taking a jab at finger print readers…must have forgot about the atrix…went to look for the tweet but can’t find it now.

    • Saw that heh. Very dumb indeed. The Atrix was only 2 years ago, even if this is a new leadership.

      • Anon

2 years is a long long time in phone tech right now.

      • PhoenixPath

        The forgot…

        …about the Atrix.

Can you really blame them? 😉

      • droidrazredge

Maybe they finally admitted that it was not only bad decision they made the Atrix but made it with biometric fingerprint ID =p

    • Radgatt

      You mean this one…

      • YinzerRob

        that’s the one!

        • MikeCiggy

The tweet would have been better if they said something like. “Remember that time we tried to sell you a phone with a fingerprint scanner in 2010 and no one liked it?”

    • JoshGroff

It was stored locally, and only used to unlock the screen, IIRC.

    • Shane Redman

Yeeeeaaaaah, they’re under new management lol

  • djab

I wish they would hurry up and drop the Moto X docks.

    • They told me mid-September, which we are getting close to heh.

      • djab

        Okay. My countdown has started.

      • Eric Callahan

They also said “days” for the Dev edition…

        • Tomorrow we’ll be at 3 weeks. 🙁

          • Sirx

Hey, anything after 1 day is fair game 😛

          • EC8CH

            21 “days”

          • michael arazan

            365 “days”

    • Anon

If they’re anything like the Droid docks…well, let’s hope their not.

Griffin’s docks for the Droid line (Griffin is also making the PowerDock for the X) are very sub-par. I bought mine for the MAXX, and I’ll be attempting to return them tomorrow. I haven’t even opened the car dock, but the PowerDock fit goes from bad to near impossible even with a small case, and it doesn’t activate Droid Dream on my phone.

The phones are great; but Moto should have made their own docks like they’ve done in the past…the Bionic and RAZR/RAZR HD docks were unparalleled.

      • Anon

they’re. Dangit, sleep-deprived from a week of out-of-state onsite work.

(Had an elegant, much longer post prepared, but it vanished the moment I logged into Discus.. :- It wasn’t about this topic, so then again why am I even typing this?)

Back to the topic on hand. Well more importantly, this small thread concerning docks. Ok, I KNOW at least two people here that have commented so far who burns through more cell phones than the avergage person. Why don’t you buy a nice universal car dock? One that might say, work on your Moto X + your new LTE Nexus 7?

Ok, I understand the answer from some. For analysis so that the product can be reviewed. Fair enough. Yes, the vast majority of people only get a new phone every other year or more, but with multiple devices and family members. I’m just saying. You can always spend the saved $$ by tippingy your Verizon sales associate. Or if you really have money to burn, you can send it to me so I can use it to buy more,.., um, more credits on my son’s education at a nice university. Yeah, sure, that sounds good ^_^

Just leave me a message if interested on that last one. A home or P.O. address will then be given. Just make the checks/moneyorders out to “Cash”.
