Pre-orders Open for Verizon and AT&T’s Galaxy Note 3 at $299

Screen Shot 2013-09-06 at 7.06.35 AM

Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on Verizon and AT&T are now open starting at $299 for the phone with a new contract. AT&T expects pre-orders to begin shipping by October 1, while Verizon is showing a “ship by” date of October 10. If you’d like to buy the phone at full retail and not sign-up for a new contract, Verizon is selling the Note 3 for $699, while AT&T has upped the price further to $725.

If you don’t want to go the full retail or on-contract routes, you can always buy using either carrier’s monthly-payment plan. Verizon Edge has the phone at $29.16 per month with $0 down – AT&T Next shows a $35 per month payment, also with $0 down.

If you want the Galaxy Gear along with your new Note 3, Verizon is already offering a bundled set with the two that runs $599 ($299 for the phone, $299 for the watch) if you sign a contract for your Note 3. If you go full retail, you’ll pay $1000. AT&T would only say that the Galaxy Gear is to arrive in the coming weeks. I’m not actually seeing any way for you to buy the Galaxy Gear as a stand-alone product, which is unfortunate.

  • Rob

Just spoke with a Verizon Rep on the phone. Said that we are able to go to the store and pre-order this phone on the device payment plan (not edge) to have the phone right when released.

  • RaptorOO7

I got my order in around 9:30 after they figured out HOW to get their systems to actually accept orders. They had “techical” issues for the first 30 minutes of the launch.

Got the Black GN3 and Black GG as well, not sure I will be keeping the GG, but figured why not get it, check it out and if I don’t like it I have 14 days to return it.

  • NIGHTSCOUT

GTFO of here with that pricing!

  • Xcalibur1011

When I switch my upgrade to mother’s line so I could avoid loosing unlimited data, then proceed to upgrade her phone to the Note 3 pre order it would say “page unavailable” but if I choose another phone it would proceed with the ordering process.

  • john

I have to think the price of the watch is going to drop once other ones start coming out

  • ynobe

just preordered mine can’t wait til october

  • sr_erick

I finally got an order in. I had to call because it was NOT working for me (just wanted the phone). In fact, when I called in the guy I talked to could not get it to work for him either, so he had to get his manager, and we finally were able to process my order. $700+ later I have a phone on the way in a few weeks.

  • Imaletufinish

Verizon’s credit card authorization is down because of the huge demand for the Note 3 today. So basically, this phone is so good it broke Verizon…

  • Joel Cure

Well, I may be an idiot, but I preordered mine and paid full retail price ($699 plus tax) to: (1) avoid the upgrade fee, (2) keep my unlimited data (3) keep my employer discount (would have been lost if I accepted the 2G/month tiered plan), and (4) avoid extending my 2 year contract. I guess if I knew about the edge/max program it would have been a better deal.

  • Xcalibur1011

Goodbye Gnex, I tried to hold out to replace with the Nexus 5, but it looks like we might not get it, and my phone won’t last long enough to wait to switch to another carrier.

  • Bootleg Zani

I still don’t get this using an upgrade on another line and then switching it to your line with Unlimited Data and keeping Unlimited Data. I was convinced that ever since July even if you upgraded on say your parents line and then switched it to your Unlimited Data line then you would still loose Unlimited Data. Now half the people claim that if you do this you now KEEP Unlimited Data. Which one is it people?

    • docfong

Can you read between the lines dude? hahah

You can move a phone to any account or line after you buy it.
Just don’t order it under the number that has the unlimited data or your screwed

      • Bootleg Zani

Yeah I’ve heard both ways. Some people claim you can just do it on a different line on the same family share and others claim the opposite. I really don’t want to pay Full Retail if I don’t have to.

        • docfong

Try it and find out.If it backfires then return the phone

    • crazed_z06

From what I understand, You upgrade the 2nd line and get the phone for 300. Youll have to add a data plan to the 2nd line. Once you get the phone, put it on your main line and cancel the data plan

  • David

Verizon doesn’t have any pictures listed of the back of the phone, could be a bunch of Verizon logos for all we know.

    • docfong

Thats what I am afraid of

    • docfong

Just so they keep the logos on the back this time. I can cover those

  • docfong

Where are they sticking the LOGOS???? This phone will NOT be unbranded

  • 213ninja

GT Marie: Hi and welcome to Verizon Wireless Sales Chat, my name is GT Marie. May I have your name, please?

You: how can i pre-order the 64GB version of the Note3? I only see the 32GB version offered…

GT Marie: I do apologize but we do not offer a 64GB version of the Note 3.

You: is that to say you won’t carry the 64GB version that Samsung announced? or, you just won’t have it “yet”. customers need to know because i dont want to order the 32 now if the 64 is coming a few weeks later (like the 32 came out a few weeks after the 16gb S4 launched)

GT Marie: At this time the only Note 3 that we are offering is the 32GB Note 3. I do not have any information as to if we will be offering a 64GB version of the Note 3.

You: so let’s say i pre-order the 32gb Note 3, and then within a few weeks time the 64gb version is in stock. what could be done for me? that’s exactly what happened with the S4, right? the 16gb version went up for pre-order, and then a few weeks later, the 32gb version came in stock and people were not happy…

GT Marie: If you order the 32GB Note 3 today and the 64GB Note 3 is released in 2 weeks, you can cancel your preorder and then order the 64GB version.

You: is that how long you have to cancel a pre-order, 2 weeks? also, could i return the 32 if the 64 launched within a certain time frame under the return policy? i’m sure it won’t be in stock until after the return policy expires for the pre order folks….

GT Marie: You can cancel the preorder at any time before it ships.

GT Marie: Once you receive the phone, you will have 14 days to return it.

You: okay thanks for confirming the policies. but can’t you just type a winky smiley face if 64gb version is coming?

GT Marie: I do apologize but I do not have any information as to if/when a 64GB version of the Note 3 will be available.

    You: boooooooooo

    • docfong

Not gonna happen. Its bad enough the phone is $299+ they are not going to sell a $399 phone. Just go buy a 64mb memory card and save yourself some $

      • 213ninja

you don’t think they will even carry the 64? i wouldn’t pay 50 or 100 extra for it, and i already have a 64 card, i don’t even need the 64 phone…but it would be nice to have the choice up front, people got screwed on the s4…

  • Laughing@you

Got my order processed without renewing my contract. Yes i paid that much. But it was very difficult. I had to place my order twice. The process was made to make it almost impossible to buy just the phone, but very easy to renew. ….Silly rabbit…. LOL

  • LionStone

Paying that much, Samsung should throw in the watch for free, not surprised at all though…

  • Brock fletcher

Upgraded on my wife’s line this morning be switching that over to my unlimited plan as soon as I get it :)

  • http://www.twitter.com/nblufire12 Nathan Patel

ugh is 700 dollars worth the off contract price for unlimited data?

    • LionStone

Not for this phone it isn’t, Samsung overcharges :(

      • Mike Hilal

        how?

        • LionStone

Look at the Droid MAXX w/ 3500 mAh and w/ built-in wireless charging. The same to subsidize at $300. but retail is 649.00. To me the wireless charging is a plus because I already have it in my phone and Nexus 7, it’s where tech is going. Why does Samsung still have a removable back on a phone with a 3200 mAh!?

          • Mike Hilal

$50 more for a lot more phone…how is that overcharging. Wireless charging is stupidly slow (.5-.75A max) and having a removable battery is far easier than waiting ages to get a decent amount of trickle charge from a gimmick.

          • LionStone

$50. more for a taller and a little bit wider form factor than the MAXX and it doesn’t support wireless charging is not worth it to me. The extra in display and Spen and removable back/battery are not pluses to me, so it’s just a matter if its worth it to you. I have a DNA and Nexus 7HD. So my max display on my mobile is 5″, the G2 is ok even though its 5.2″ because it is shorter than the DNA.

Wireless charging is a convenience, when its built into the phone it gives the user the option to have another way to charge. Is it a gimmick to charge your phone? Nope. If your phone doesn’t have it then you don’t get the option. But it is nice on the desk or night stand (I have a 1a charge plate) and it is a little slower to charge vs plugged in but I do my main charge at night so it doesn’t matter if its slower, its charged full when I get up. In the car, on the wireless charging dock, again, convenience. Less wires and less plugging in/out the phone. If people are blowing through a 3200mah battery by mid day and have to swap out, then wow is all I have to say because that says something more about Sammy’s battery inefficiencies than their awesomeness to provide a removable back/battery.

          • Mike Hilal

It’s your opinion. Not fact. That’s what I was getting at.

          • LionStone

No you were mocking its slow charging speed, when its not about speed, it’s not a race, it’s about convenience and options and innovation and that’s a fact. Its also a fact that Note 3 does not include it (or even provide an option for it afaik, not sure if they will provide a special back to charge you later for) but will be charging top dollar.

          • Mike Hilal

AND I was mocking it. At least get it right if you’re trying to debate. It’s your opinion that they overcharge. You get more phone (a fact) and one less gimmick (your opinion is that it’s a convenience, when in reality it works marginally compared to traditional charging methods…which makes it a gimmick).

Charging is 100% about speed. Slow charging is pointless…even if convenient. Who wants to charge their phone for a few minutes and get 1% added to their battery? Desktop docks are far better than a wireless charger of any kind. It’s the same amount of cables, and the plug goes in straight every time. With a removable battery, one can charge spares while the phone charges.

          • LionStone

Hey buddy, however you need to put it in your head to convince yourself it’s worth it, is all that matters. You also get a ‘bigger’ phone, fact. Fast charging also isn’t the best thing for the longevity of the battery as well, fact. Buy a wireless charging plate, good for other devices as well down the road. Your extra batteries only work for a particular phone, change phones have to buy more batteries and separate charger. Does the Note 2 battery fit in the Note 3? Probably not.

          • Mike Hilal

Lead acid batteries, yes. Li-Ion/Li-poly…does not matter very much (esp given that all usb chargers slow down the last 10%). Buying accessories (batteries, docks, etc) is not a big deal as they can be had cheaply if you know where to look. So long as your logic works for you, I’m happy that you’re happy.

          • LionStone

“Note that a Li-ion battery that received a fully saturated charge will keep the higher voltage longer than one that was fast-charged and terminated at the voltage threshold without a saturation charge.”

“Charge absorption is very high and with a low and intermittent charge, charging simply takes a little longer without negatively affecting the battery.”

            http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/charging_lithium_ion_batteries

          • Mike Hilal

Because you’re incapable of reading, and doing anything but regurgitation of information, you clearly missed where I told you the charge slows down towards the end. The amperage does not matter until the end of the charge cycle, in which it must slow down. That’s what a saturation charge is, and what I described.

Saturation charge: After a time the voltage peaks at 4.2 Volts for an LCO cell. At this point the cell or battery must enter a second stage of charging known as the saturation charge. A constant voltage of 4.2 volts is maintained and the current will steadily fall. The end of the charge cycle is reached when the current falls to around 10% of the rated current. The charge time may be around two hours for this stage dependent upon the type of cell and the manufacturer, etc..

Just in case you try to post more nonsense.

          • LionStone

Hey you were the one that gurgled this nonsense! I provided two quotes and a link for your enjoyment, that ripped your claims below to shreds. My work is done, good day buddy :-)

“Charging is 100% about speed. Slow charging is pointless…”

          • Mike Hilal

Again, your inability to read and or comprehend hoists you again. Up until the last 10% of charging, the amperage (current, and conseqently the speed at which charging occurs ) is irrelevant. I copied from your own link. Saturation charge occurs once you get the battery to peak voltage. The faster you do this, the faster the battery will charge. Saturation charge will take the same amount of time no matter if you charge at 2 amps or 1500 amps as it’s controlled by a microprocessor.

Just because you dont understand things does not make me wrong.

            Smh

    • crazed_z06

      Yes.

  • WASGONNABUYANOTE

WHAT THE !!!!!!!!!!!! THIS HAS TO BE A JOKE !!!!!!!!! 599 ON CONTRACT !!!!!!!!!!! EPIC FAIL

    • crazed_z06

      Its 300 on contract.

  • Greg Abbate

Does verizon edge program kill my unlimited data?

    • BigDeeNY99

i think it does.. But there were rumors of a Verizon MAX for those who want the Edge program willing to lose unlimited.

    • Laughing@you

It doesn’t. You are buying the phone at full price.

      • Greg Abbate

so the monthly payments will just be more?

        • Mike Hilal

          yes

    • Bruce

“Edge” program will kill your unlimited data. “Device Payment Plan” will not.
VZW doesn’t advertise the latter, but it’s been around way before the “Edge”.

  • Payaso

    Only 600!!!

  • http://friv-2.yepi-yepi.com/ Friv2games

If you need it “financed” your basically locking yourself into a 2 year contract.

    • DJyoSNOW

I swear one can charge a chunk to the account and pay rest on own in a few more months as needed. The phone just can’t be pre ordered for this. (Tim242)

  • Bradley Albert Nemitz

Any idea when the Note 2 price will drop? I’m still trying to get my dad off his Thunderbolt.

  • http://twitter.com/geoff5093 Geoff Johnson

    That month-to-month cost… Damn!

  • charles rogers

    $1000 off contract? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • joder

Is it possible that the home button won’t be branded…. *still in shock*

  • SA_NYC

By the way, the 10/10 ship date is a pleasant surprise.

  • Ace

How do I pre-order at full retail without losing my unlimited data?

    • mustbepbs

Open another line on your account or use an upgrade for a different line, then activate the phone on your unlimited line. Or just keep trying customer support to see if you get a nice person.

      • jboogie1289

They have the chat option up on the preorder page so they’re all over it this morning! Lol.

    • jboogie1289

Once you sign in to MyVzw, search Galaxy Note 3 and it should pull the page up for preorders. From there, select what you want (full retail is $699.00) and proceed to checkout. If you aren’t planning on switching anything with your plan just follow all the way through. The full retail option has something on it saying “month to month” but disregard that. Agree to the terms and your’e done $760.00 later.

  • maxkobi

how can i order off verizon without getting a new plan? keeps defaulting me to pick a share everything plan…no thanks…

    • Laughing@you

Same thing happened to me. After several phone calls, it came down to move as if you are upgrading, after selecting the line you are upgrading, then hit the shopping cart on the top left. There you can switch to month to month select the correct phone hit continue and it will modified the price to full and use your current plan. Hope that helps!!

  • terry12s

Ya, I’ll stick to my Droid Bionic :)

    • John
    • Paul Christopher

Your Bionic still functions? Mine is currently on it’s last leg. I seriously cannot use data after the last update. If I turn it on, my battery will die within 30 minutes of use. Ran fine before the JB update though.

      • terry12s

Ya, it actually works really good yet. It’s a little slow sometimes but that’s to be expected due to it’s age.

  • Piyali Roy

We will really like if it supports the mobile apps offered by the several network ad agencies like adcolony, immobi or appnext, as their varieties applications are quiet appreciable

  • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 Mr Frodo24

I don’t know if I’m that suprised, but I really thought that the bundle would have been some sort of a discount. Not just the two products together. What’s the point of getting the bundle as opposed to getting them separate?

    • LionStone

Its ‘bundled’, as in, you give them a ‘bundle’ of cash! Oh!

      • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 Mr Frodo24

        No kidding!

  • jbegs

I love how the page gives you 3 options to buy. Contract pricing, Edge Program or Month-to-Month. I selected the Month-to-Month ($699.99) and hit Pre-Order. Brings me to the next page where it shows the contract pricing and says continue to plans.

    • Guest

I had same issue with cart. Call them and they will take you money correctly.

    • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 Mr Frodo24

That’s strange… So you put the $699 version in your cart and it’s showing up for the $299 price?

      • jbegs

Yep. I tried it after signing in and even when I wasn’t signed in (new customer). I have a Note 2 and don’t see a real need to upgrade now. I just wanted to see what options they offered to keep my unlimited.

    • Steven Dinsdale

I had the same issue when buying my wife’s phone, however ordering this for myself kept the $699 and unlimited data. Try transferring your upgrade to another line maybe?

    • Colin Huber

Then there’s the original price this morning, plated in super, super white gold.

    • NexusPhan69
      • jbegs

They shouldn’t show the price option on that page if it doesn’t work. Also, another comment on this story mentions that the GN3 isn’t available through “iconic” so that doesn’t help either. But thanks anyway.

        • NexusPhan69

Note the “Doesn’t work for pre-orders.”?

And yes we all know. Verizon sucks. Old news.

  • XxXDroidRocXxX

I will be getting this bad boy, and selling my note 2. Hope Verizon has the pink one

  • Mattie Stockard

    Pink??? :-(

  • burpootus

Will the Verizon version have a locked bootloader? Seems things got a lot tougher with Sammy’s phones with the S4…

    • btod

Do you really have to ask given Verizon’s history?

      • burpootus

I guess I’m really wondering where it is all going from here. Truly locked bootloaders will have a negative affect on development for VZ devices. Up until the S4, unlocked images were purposefully leaked but now it appears that isn’t happening anymore. When they kick us off unlimited and there are no longer any flagships with an unlocked bootloader, will the DL community continue to stick with VZ?

      • burpootus

I guess really it’s wondering where it’s all going. Previous Sammy devices have had bootloader leaks but it appears this has stopped with the S4. The HTC one is still locked, correct? The chances of VZ doing another Nexus appear slim. So if all their bootloaders are locked and they kick us off unlimited, will the DL community continue supporting VZ?

  • Jimmy

They can’t be serious with that off contract price for the phone and the inspector gadget watch. My God….

    • Tim242

      The watch…dead on arrival.

  • http://www.vinsonimages.com yamaha83

i will be waiting to details on nexus 5 and also to see if this phone or the moto X get the bootloader unlocked…

    • Tim242

The Note 3 will probably get the LOKI bypass, like the S4…as good as unlocked.

    • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 Mr Frodo24

Your avatar frightens me whenever I see it haha (sorry, random)

  • Jim890

Omg Omg Omg, Christmas is about to come very early for me!

  • Richard Yarrell

Wouldn’t touch the Verizon Note three with a ten foot pole. You don’t even know what you might be missing since last year’s Note 2 debacle. Okay NO childish branding this time but what’s stripped out of the handset is the questio. What feat ure did they remove. Nothing beats Tmobile period. They don’t alter handsets with stupid wifi notifications or subtraction of features.

    • Tim242

They just offer a horribly unreliable network. In my city, T-Mobile coverage varies from GPRS to EDGE, to HSPA to HSPA+, to LTE…and that’s just in my neighborhood. Awful, just awful.

    • Weber
    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Richard Yeller is usually trolly but he has a partial point… VZW tends to gimp Touch Wiz features and move this around a bit… not that it actually mmatters in the end… but

      • http://www.nsa.gov/ National Security Agency

“usually trolly” that is the nicest way I have ever seen someone say “jackass”.

    • Futbolrunner

      Just shut up.

    • bizi

What features did they remove from the Note2?

      • Jason Geiger

Blocking mode, splanner widget, wifi toggle and added wifi nag. Allshare play where dropbox doesn’t sync long videos. You have to redownload them every time. International roms brought it all back and Verizon based roms brought almost all back to how Samsung intended.

  • DoctorJB

Where’s the Verizon logo? There must be an error here.

  • litobirdy

um where’s 64gb option on both pre orders, what the hec

    • NexusPhan69

Verizon might have passed on the 64GB option. Probably going to release the VZ Cloud soon and will shift to 8GB phones only.

      • litobirdy

ah nevermind, Forgot this phone has micro sd slot anyway, wouldn’t be worth the overprice for going up another 32gb on internal

    • 213ninja

      i’m not surprised, the 32gb S4 came late too….

  • Chad

Is there no way to pre-order this full retail (without choosing a new plan)? I tried the “Iconic Portal” site and it does not list the Note 3

    • SA_NYC

Probably going to have to wait a while (as in, a couple of weeks, I’d guess) for Verizon to start offering this without a contract option. You know they’re going to use this big product launch to try to get more people off unlimited plans. I would say be patient.

        • SA_NYC

Ah, excellent find, thanks. $760, I guess that’s with tax. Ouch, lots of $$. Hope I’m able to find a decent buyer for my Note 2.

          • jboogie1289

I was already shopping it around and checking on Craigslist to see what the competition was selling for.

  • NexusPhan69

Anyone notice the “key features” Verizon lists on their product page?
There are only 3 of them. Bluetooth 4.0, S Pen, and, of course, VZ Navigator.
Cause who would want to buy a Note 3 without VZ Navigator. I know I wouldn’t.

    • Weber

If they wouldn’t put that to accompany their logo, you’d be lost in every aspect of your life.

    • Tim242

VZ Navigator is always the first to go as soon as I launch Titanium.

      • Xeneize480

Idiots make dumb comments hahaha he wants to sound smart by using titanium when you can actually disable the app without having to root your phone lol

        • http://twitter.com/geoff5093 Geoff Johnson

What if you want to remove it? Titanium Backup is the first thing I install when I root my phone, for the main purpose of freezing and removing all bloat and apps, many of which aren’t available to disable without root.

        • Bender Bending Rodriguez

You’re the idiot. Uninstalling/deleting the app is better than disabling it.

          • Futbolrunner

            Shhh..let’s make him feel smart.

          • Xeneize480

In what way idiot? Saving 4Mb hahaha yeah I can see that as way better hahaha

        • Big_EZ

Idiots do make dumb comments. Disabling it doesn’t uninstall it, some people don’t won’t that crap on their phone at all, not just disabled.

        • charles rogers

Well titanium is so i can have a backup of VZ Navigator in case it magically disappears!

Most bloat can’t be disabled. I’m thinking you can’t disable VZ Nav, but can’t remember. There is a long list of apps that can’t be disabled. So,now don’t you feel silly?

        • Guest

          What a douche.

        • Xeneize480

Hahahaha this site host more idiots than XDA lol

          • Rammstein

            eres un pendejo.

          • Xeneize480

            Tu puta madre wetback jajaja

      • Jason Geiger

Hopefully it isn’t locked down like the S4.

        • Luke Grissom

I’m sure it will be, but the dev community will come through for us with an unlock method, as they always do :).

    • T4rd

VZ Navigator is prolly better than the new version of Google Maps, which is sad. I hope Google fixes it soon, not only is the layout worse (IMO), performance is noticeably laggier than previous versions, at least on my Note 2 it is.

      • Isaac W

Glad I was not the only one that hates the new Google Maps… Its awful…

        • tomn1ce

          You’re not alone on this…

      • http://twitter.com/geoff5093 Geoff Johnson

Navigation is terrible. “Turn right in 100ft” when it’s showing you to turn left. Then you turn your screen off to save battery and just listen to the audio, and when you wonder why you haven’t heard anything in 10 minutes you find it killed itself and you’re at the home screen.

      • James Friedman

My phone (toro GN) literally can’t stay locked on a connection and just starts sliding around on the map. I’ll be siting at a light and it’s just moving like as if I’m driving. It’s so F’d up it’s unbelievable. It’s also a huge battery drain right now.

        • michael arazan

My Gnex is also having problems getting my exact fix on my location, used to be several feet, now it is about a quarter mile away, wasn’t sure if it was maps or verizon’s antenna and network

    • Richard Yarrell

If it’s not the childish branding then it’s the stripping out of all Samsung features trying there overall best to dum down the Galaxy Note 3 so it won’t be better than there failing Droid line up of products. I thank God I was smart enough to DUMP Verizon and it’s failed Galaxy Nexus back in June 2012. I don’t have to put up with all the silly alterations and retarded wifi notifications in the pull down menu that Verizon does to all it’s putrid handsets. Plus with poor updates and disabling bloatware on all handsets I would take anything EVER AGAIN on Verizon not even for free. Piss on Verizon all day long….

      • Richard Yarrell

I am extremely happy that Verizon will NEVER SEE another Nexus handset again. They couldn’t update a simple stock android device Google hates Verizon with a passion just like I do.

        • squiddy20

Wow. Replying to yourself. I take it you’ve never heard/seen of a little thing called the “edit” button?
Show me one credible source that says Verizon will actually never see another Nexus device. Sure, it probably won’t happen this year or next, but sometime soon after. You sure you don’t know the meaning of the word “never”?
Also, while we’re at it, show me one credible source that says Google “hates” Verizon.

      • squiddy20

        1. If you had a Galaxy Nexus, you didn’t have to deal with “silly alterations and retarded wifi notifications in the pull down menu” anyway. Idiot.
        2. For someone who insults people about being “uneducated simpletons” and all this talk about “retarded” this and “childish” that, you sure can’t spell worth a d*mn. Seriously, how do you screw up “dumb”?
        3. As if T-Mobile doesn’t throw any “disabling bloatware” on any of it’s phones either. You are clearly delusional/in denial.

  • yooo

Umm is the 64Gb model coming to any of US carriers?

    • @GoogleGoliath

Verizon does not have the 64gb

    • Justin W

I’m guessing it’ll be an exclusive to AT&T, since they seem to get those exclusives so often.

  • sr_erick

I have a Note 2 now. I wanted to get a Moto X, but this thing is only $100 more. Resisting the urge to buy at full retail but it will probably happen anyways.

    • Tim242

Me too. This addiction is out of control. I bought the Note 2 and S4 full retail. Now, this comes along uggggh

      • mustbepbs

Sell the Note 2 and S4? Why do you need 3 phones?

        • Tim242

Haha no, I only have 1 phone. I sold the Note 2 when I got my S4.

          • mustbepbs

            Ahh okay. Phew.

  • Danny

To use the VZW payment plan. dont you have to be upgrade eligible?

    • countryashell334

Yeah, I think you do have to be if you’re an existing customer…sucks.

      • Danny

Well i have a plan with them and it will not let me stay on my family plan to use the edge program. Oh well guess its full price. Trade on my Note 2 at BB is 250-260 now.

        • countryashell334

Yeah I’m on a Family plan too. Was looking through the FAQ’s about the edge program and it states that ” you can participate in the Verizon Edge program provided you are upgrade eligible and enter a Verizon Edge Agreement”. Oh well…so much fro that idea.

          • Danny

Actually just chatting with customer service. I’m actually due for an upgrade on my line. Just the online preorder will not work for me as it keeps saying my family plan isn’t compatible with the device. In which case ill just wait til the phone comes out go to BB trade my Note 2 in and use it toward the price of my upgrade.

    • Tim242

No. You are paying full price, not upgrading. Keep in mind, payment plan and VZ Edge are two different options.

      • countryashell334

Oh ok. I was thinking of VZ Edge

  • Eugene Tang

700 bucks so i can keep my unlimited. hmmm. i guess this is the the only way to go for me?

    • NexusPhan69

$999.98 to keep unlimited if you want the watch too. INSANE.

      • BigDeeNY99

REALLY INSANE! I will keep my Note 2!

        • dmagicp

I think it is going to pay to wait a few months on this one. My note 2 is still rock solid and I can wait this one out. Plus, there are going to be more color options in a few months. Every smart phone release starts out with a ridiculous price point, people jump out and buy the phone anyway, then after a month, amazon starts offering deals. I bet if you wait for just 2 months after the initial release, you can get the phone and the watch for 299.00. Droid Life will report it like this: Amazon offering Galaxy Gear for free when you purchase the Note 3 on upgrades for a limited time. If you’ve been wanting the Note 3 and Galaxy Gear combo, head on over to Amazon, or hit the source after the break folks. However, I actually think my money is going to be spent on the Toq instead of the Gear.

      • discstu37

What… did you expect it to be?

    • http://www.vinsonimages.com yamaha83

just add dumb line for 9.99 a month. activate a data plan and new phone on new line. cancel data plan. move phone to your unlimited line

      • Adrynalyne

Then you have two contracts and 15 dollars a month extra on your bill. Been there, done that and it was a bad choice.

        • Joder

There’s my favorite troll. What rock have you been hiding under?

        • Big_EZ

My extra basic line run just over $17. They (full retail, or adding another line) are basically the same price, but one is locked into a contract.

          • Mr E

Hmm, yeah, $17 over 24 is $408. I guess it makes more sense if you have someone that will actually use the dumb-phone on the extra line.

          • tomn1ce

That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out…Unless you’re going to give someone the dumb-phone and they’ll cover the line, you’re just flushing money down the drain.

      • Big_EZ

An extra line with nothing but the line cost me $17 a month ($9.99 for the line, and over $7 for taxes) it works out about the same price. If you need it “financed” your basically locking yourself into a 2 year contract. My extra line was added for my mother, luckily I can transfer upgrades to that line and keep unlimited data (and steal her upgrade)

        • 213ninja

          ditto. its awesome.

    • Tim242

      $750 with tax : /

      • jboogie1289

$699.00 plus tax with Big Red.

        • Tim242

Which is $750-$770 with tax, depending on your location tax rate

          • jboogie1289

Yep. Correct. $757.00 with tax in Houston Tx.

          • michael arazan

7% here in MO, 6% if it is food

    • Mason Lammers

Only other option is to add a new line with a tablet, then pay full retail for the tablet, and get your phone at new contract price. Will still cost you $10/month for the tablet line and then $300 for the phone and around $300 for the tablet.

    • T4rd

Or wait a few weeks and get it used on Swappa/Criagslist for a bit less probably.

    • DealMasterXXL

I have been selling my old phones on ebay and using the money I get to offset the cost of a new one. My current phone (Note 2) is currently selling for around $400 in good condition on ebay so I will end up paying around $300 out of pocket once I sell mine which is about the same amount I spent on my Note 2 After I sold my Galaxy Nexus and a Droid 3 a friend gave me….I keep my unlimited and the cycle continues.

      • Xeneize480

You are the only smart comment I read so far.. keep it up.. no bitching just plain smart..

    • Jebus Crisco

Or upgrade another line that doesnt have unlimited activate on that line and then switch phone to your unlimited line, or open up a new line at $10/month and get note 3 on that, activate and switch to your unlimited line and put a dumb phone on the new line.

  • @GoogleGoliath

I couldn’t order it on the phone and the web pages aren’t coming up for me!

  • Shannon

    Just ordered mine at Verizon!

    • HerbieDerb

      I balked when there wasn’t a 64GB version.

      • Bootleg Zani

Yes I’m waiting for a 64 GB version releases on Verizon.
