Galaxy Note 3 Launch Date on T-Mobile Set For October 2

Note 3

Customers on T-Mobile looking to grab the Galaxy Note 3 can do so on October 2, according to an announcement made by T-Mo this morning. Unlike Verizon and AT&T, whose on-contract price is listed at $299, the Note 3 on T-Mobile will cost you $199 on contract through its “Simple Choice Plan.” After the upfront cost of $199, subscribers will then make 24 monthly payments of $21. In addition, T-Mo will also carry the Galaxy Gear smartwatch for its usual $299 price.

For anyone on US Cellular, the company announced this morning that the Note 3 would be available in October, but gave no specific date or pricing yet.

finally getting mine Note 3 tomorrow (October 10) as promised by Verizon. I travel a lot on business and need good nationwide coverage on the road. Verizon is the best for me.

  • Kristine

Do you think that Target Mobile will carry the Note 3? And if so, when?

  • Lydia Akua Yeboah

so if u r joining T-mobile for the first time and u want to the Note 3 for the JUMP program, you have to get another phone and wait 6 months before the note 3 will be available to you?

  • sam

Yay! Can’t wait to pick up my new note 3!!

  • RaptorOO7

Color me surprised that ONCE Verizon announced their pre-orders and date the other carriers would scramble to out do Verizon with an earlier date. Somehow I suspect Verizon will NOT take this lying down and I think it’s possible they could launch on 10-3 given that is a Thursday.

  • chris125

So this or the g2 on Verizon???

  • Brandon Golway

@tim-o-tato T-mobile doesn’t have contracts anymore, hence the whole uncarrier thing :)

  • Roy Harrigan

How much is the 64 gb version going to cost?

    • Brandon Golway

The crappy thing is, I doubt we’ll ever see it in the states. Remember how the S4 was released in 16/32/64 GB models? I have yet to find anyone with the 64 GB model, only AT&T had the 32 GB model.

      • Roy Harrigan

That sucks. Hopefully I can get it through Amazon or something. I’ll choose to have more memory when given the choice.

        • Fattie McDoogles

I’m sure you’ll be able to find it on Swappa.

        • Brandon Golway

Yea, I was highly disappointed too. I was ready to get the 64 GB version when I switched to T-Mobile only to be let down that they only had the 16 GB version :(

If only T-Mobile had that one little thing I need. What’s i called again? Coverage?

    • LudekBrown

Before I switched to T-Mobile I could not make any phone calls at home with AT&T and of course they also did not offer wi-fi calling. With T-Mobile I have now full bars at home and at work and I am saving a lot of money. So I always recommend checking coverage map before going with any carrier.

    • RaptorOO7

You are so right about that. IF ONLY T-Mo actually had coverage on a national scale, having it in major metro doesn’t cut it anymore.

    • Richard Yarrell

When I KICKED VERIZON to the curb in June 2012 it has been a grand ride on T-Mobile something Verizon could never do. After owning my current Galaxy S3 and current Galaxy Note 2 I will be purchasing the Galaxy Note 3 on October 2nd like clock work. Three lines of service unlimited at it’s best It is definitely a happy time. Plain and simple nothing beats Samsung or T-Mobile.

Will it be available as a JUMP! Upgrade?

    • StuckOnVerizonForever

Yeah when it’s been 6 months. They just implemented it.

      • Brandon Golway

I’m counting down the months already! I was kind of pissed because I thought I had enabled JUMP last month but it turns out that it didn’t stick and I had to re-enable it this month so it looks like I won’t be able to get it until February :(

        • Fattie McDoogles

I did the same thing. But that’s perfect timing for the HTC Two and the S5

          • michael arazan

I’d call customer service and explain your circumstance, because if you started it there should be record of it on your account and a payment of it automatically unless you canceled it within a day or so after starting it. They may give it to and the previous month because its brand new and they want as many people as possible jumping on it.

Just explain it, the reps are pretty nice and will probably give it to you if you tell them, may have been a glitch in the system being new is always a good point to make.

          • Brandon Golway

Ehh it’s only a month and just like Fattie said, the S5 may be out by then or something that’s better. You know how the Android game goes: indefinite waiting for the next best thing.

    • Fattie McDoogles

You have to have JUMP for 6 months before you can actually use it the first time. So yes, in March, you would be able to use JUMP to pick up the Note 3

how much off contract if i want to buy it to preserve unlimited data?

    • T4rd

I’m sure it will be $700+, prolly around $750. I would wait abd buy used off of Swappa/Craigslist for prolly around $600-$650.

      • Justin W

@nblufire10:disqus I saw somewhere Vzw listed it as $699 with AT&T at $724.99. I think the Vzw price was a leak and AT&T was an announcement though, so take it with some salt.

        • jboogie1289

Full retail is $699.00 plus tax on Big Red. Agree to the terms and your’e done $760.00 later, in Houston Tx.

          • sk3litor

Agree to what terms, you’re buying a phone at full retail?

          • jboogie1289

A formality to get to the next screen before confirming my purchase.

          • Justin W

Activation/network use I’m guessing. I know when I purchased my Razr HD at full retail, I had to agree to something similar.

          • jboogie1289

            What Justin said! Lol.

          • sk3litor

            Wouldnt it be $742?

          • jboogie1289

Don’t know about that price but my end cost came out to $757.00

          • sk3litor

Oh I bet state tax is different. Im in Mi. Oh well either way basicaly the same. Can’t wait to own this

  • DanielP

Why VZW 10/10/13? I thought they were finally stepping up their game.

    • T4rd

At least they’re not taking 4-6 weeks after every other carrier like they did with the Note 2/GS4 launch. That’s still much better, I wouldn’t complain.

    • Futbolrunner

      They are. That’s only a week after T-Mobile. :/

    • StuckOnVerizonForever

Hey, it’s better than 2-3 months. don’t complain.

    • Dorian Brooks

Only an extra 8-9 days to test, add bloatware, & lock the bootloader. Impressive Verizon…. Impressive….

    • Colin Huber

I’m totally fine with a week later than everybody else.

    • zepfloyd

it’s BY 10/10. Verizon always runs conservative, would not surprise me to see preorders start shipping 10/2 or something.

      • jboogie1289

Yeah, I remember the same thing with the S3 preorder and shipping date. Come on Oct 2nd, hopefully.

      • sk3litor

I will NEVER give verizon my money. Ill walk right into a best buy throw $800 on the floor and say “carry this bad beast out ti my truck”. No im all talk ill just buy it regularly. But it will be from best buy. :)
