AT&T announced a new batch of 4G LTE markets this morning, highlighted by a couple of large cities such as Milwaukee, WI and Springfield, OH. If you are on AT&T and have a device capable of connecting to the network, then you should be seeing some much-improved speeds this week. The full list of new markets can be viewed below.

  • Champaign, Illinois
  • Tifton, Georgia
  • Moultrie, Georgia

The LTE in NYC its comes and go, you can sit down and see the LTE symbol and few min later “4G”…

  • Josh Shaw

We’ve had it in Tyler for almost 3 weeks.

  • Randy

C’mon at&t. Light up more service is south west idaho!

  • Their LTE footprint has been expanding every couple weeks here in NH, but I’ve never seen them talk about it.

  • Michael Veringo

Come on AT&T. Let’s get some LTE love in Myrtle Beach, SC.

  • Justtyn Hutcheson

Getting out in the boonies here in Georgia. Glad to see it, if for no other reason than to keep Verizon on their toes 🙂

  • T4rd

I like how AT&T is claiming to be the “most reliable” LTE network now in their commercials now. Last I saw, Verizon still has a much larger LTE network, which I would relate to being more “reliable.”

    • Size doesn’t relate to it being reliable. Look at Sprint’s 3G network.

      • T4rd

Well that’s Sprint.. their 3G coverage is both smaller than Verizon/AT&T’s LTE network and the equivilant of dial-up. I don’t think anyone would consider their network reliable in any sense of the word.

        • My point being that reliability has nothing to do with the size of the network, I’ve had many more LTE issues with Verizon than AT&T.

Milwaukee… We had it for awhile now I think… Strange

    • Blue Sun

I was sorta surprised to see this major of a city on this list. I was definitely scratching my head on this one too. Recently they have been lighting up smaller & smaller populated areas.

      • Siebs

It’s possible that they’ve strengthened the coverage area to include more of the city. There are definitely some dead spots in certain neighborhoods as well as along the lakeshore.

    • MicroNix

If you followed the AT&T link provided it isn’t really Milwaukee, it is Whitewater and Lake Geneva. Milwaukee must just be listed as the region.

  • Justin Rogers

yep I am in Champaign and it got lit up last Thursday 😀

but it dont work in champaign 750kbps up and down is not LTE and the ATT store is telling people it could be till september 25th before its fixed. I just shut lte off on my wifes htc one. She could not even surf over the weekend while at work on break. Switching to hspa+ fixed that problem

      • Justin Rogers

that’s strange cause I am reporting 30+ mbps and have had no issues what so ever.

        • glimmerman76

they may have fixed it from over the weekend. Wife just text me LTE is now working. I still can’t figure how they messed it up over he weekend tho.

  • ddevito

    Corning, New York.

I spent a month there one night.

    • KM

It’s not that bad of a place… at least we give you gorilla glass.

      • ddevito

I worked for Corning years ago (mid to late 90s), and I’m actually vested and have some low level retirement…anyway….yada yada yada…..

I met up with my old boss around 2002 or so and she said to invest heavily in Corning because they were developing a new glass technology for cars, TVs and computer screens. I didn’t think anything of it – OOPS.

But it doesn’t stop at phones. They want to develop smart glass for windows, table tops, bathroom mirrors, etc. Pretty interesting stuff.

    • Did you at least stop by Aniello’s for a slice while you were there?

      • ddevito

No – but I used to stop at the factory once a year or so.

  • Adam Truelove

Champaign, Illinois – so close!!! Just a bit more west.

    • glimmerman76
