LG G2 Coming to the “Four Major Carriers in the US”

lg g2 official2

During today’s press event for the LG G2, LG confirmed that the phone will launch on the “four major carriers in the U.S.” They didn’t specifically say AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint, but we’d assume that’s what the company meant. Those are the big four, after all.

Sprint has already acknowledged that they’ll carry the phone “later this year.” T-Mobile has said that more pricing and availability will be shared in the “coming weeks.” Verizon and AT&T have yet to acknowledge the G2′s existence.

        • LionStone

oh dang, sorry man…I’ve been using mine like a fiend!

  • Justin Larmay

Soo on screen nav buttons? Or soft? I can’t tell.

    • violator702

      On screen

  • StankyChikin

    Nexus 5 anyone?

  • CasperTFG

Loving the Verizon hate on Twitter.

  • jer85008

My honest (not even kidding) estimate of when Verizon will see this phone is AT BEST October/November. Blah.

Anyone know if the buttons on the back are recessed into the case?

Seems like they would be accidentally pushed when you set the phone down.
Also, having buttons so close to the camera lens is a bad idea.

    • RaptorOO7

Not likely, but the new LG flip cover case with an actual back cover will offer some protection on the buttons.

  • Dale

The answer is probably yes, but will this phone support AWS?

  • Ray Gray

a couple questions will the bootloader be unlocked? and does this have a removeable battery since its akwardly shaped?

    • violator702

      Not sure and yes.

      • RaptorOO7

Bootloader is likely locked but will vary my carrier. IE AT&T & Verizon locked, Sprint & T-MO – maybe.

Removable battery – S.Korea Yes – Everyone else NO.

  • Chippah

Well we all know who ISNT getting this phone,
    His name is RON

    • Tyler Durden

      Isn’t *

      • sc0rch3d

        isn’t**

        • Chippah

          AINT!

          • JonathonFlores

Ii lol’d and startled my co-worker! Haha

        • Tyler Durden

          Ohhh auto capitalize ohhhhhhh raweeeerrrr

  • Kevin Le

Verizon did confirm on twitter with their nasty… https://twitter.com/VZWnews/status/365135081054011392/photo/1 logo

    • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 MrFrodo24

OMG the Verizon logos on that are hysterical!

      • Tyler Durden

It’s not so bad now. They become irrelevant after a while.

        • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 MrFrodo24

Disagree. The fact that they put the check mark logo on the front and back is ludicrous. I have the DNA and thankfully they only put the check mark on the front, with a subtle 4GLTE logo on the back.

          • Tyler Durden

They were unnoticeable on the Note 2. Forgot it was there after a few days and everybody complaining for no reason.

          • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 MrFrodo24

That’s not the point. It doesn’t matter if you don’t notice them as much after a couple days. The point is that they have no reason to go overkill on it like this. It’s clearly a marketing scheme taken to obscene levels that nobody likes, regardless of whether you “forget it was there after a few days”.

          • Tyler Durden

Yeah its called free marketing. But to sit and complain constantly. Ain’t gonna get you anywhere

          • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 MrFrodo24

Well I’m not really complaining anymore, I’m just arguing with you, aren’t I?

          • EC8CH

            It’s called lost sales.

I would consider the G2, but not with that moronic logo on the front.

          • Anon

Insignificant. Logos have never hurt Verizon’s sales. Look at the Note 2 for example.

          • EC8CH

            I didn’t buy the Note 2 either.
            :-P

          • ostensibly

I bought it but only b/c the button is coverable.

          • LionStone

How do you know how many passed it up because of the bozo logos?

          • Tyler Durden

            First world problems I guess

    • tyguy829

HOLY VERIZON LOGO BATMAN. and the messed with the back buttons too. I hate them so much

    • Eric

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, now waiting for a google play edition with cdma.

      • Munchma Quchi

        Google Play edition on CDMA?

    • ToddAwesome

Phone + case = no logo

      • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Guess you didn’t see the Verizon logo on the front of the device.

        • ToddAwesome

Yeah, no, I see it, but I also regularly use an Otterbox, so, I never see ANY of my phones.

          • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Oh you’re one of those people…

          • ToddAwesome

I also wear a burqa on weekends, I like to keep covered up, fo sho!

          • JonathonFlores

            lmao!

      • mustbepbs

You know, except the GIANT ONE RIGHT IN YOUR FACE NEAR THE EAR PIECE HOLY CRAP LOOK OUT IT’S COMING RIGHT AT YOU!

        ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

      • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 MrFrodo24

        Phone + case /= 2.65 mm thin

        • ToddAwesome

          Ladies love the girth.

          • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 MrFrodo24

            …. That’s just wrong.

          • ToddAwesome

            feels so right?

          • http://people.ign.com/mrfrodo24 MrFrodo24

            haha touche

          • JonathonFlores

            That’s what she said.

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

      Logo rape.

      • EC8CH

        logo gang rape

      • Munchma Quchi

Verizon likes nothing more than doing both the front and the back…equal opportunity.

        • michael arazan

Loved How Moto said Logos don’t really mean much, wish Verizon would het the message

    • tyguy829

Everyone needs to go spam the VZWnews twitter with hate ASAP

      • CasperTFG

        Already being done.

        • tyguy829

          loving it

    • Tony Stark

Where is that Verizon guy… his input would be glorious right now

    • Michael Tate

Is the date on the phone picture any indication of release date? :-)
      (Thursday, 10/03)

    • EC8CH

I think someone hacked their twitter account and posted a fake render with joke logos everywhere…

      Nope??? This is so sad.

    • C-Law

Wtf! Is this legit or Verizon making fun of themselves? Clearly that’s an early render

  • chris125

And Verizon plastered their logo all over it. Typical

    • NexusPhan69

      Seriously?

      • chris125

        Yep

        • Jeff C

that front facing verizon logo….why? why o why o why?

          • chris125

I know. I would have been ok with just the logo on back

          • Jeff C

it’s not a 100% correct comparison but it’s like comcast putting a friggen comcast logo on the front of my LG TV. da fuq

          • ToddAwesome

There’s room for a few more on there, you hear me Verizon? There’s room for more!

          • marko358

With no buttons on the side, they may be able to squeeze a few mini logos on each side.

          • Mathew Colburn

So you never forget that you’re getting raped in the arse by them.

  • Greg Morgan

Verizon tweeted during the stream that it will be available. Also, apparently you can customize the softkeys on the phone which is pretty cool.

    • poop

      Link (to where/when Verizon tweeted)?

    • tomn1ce

I don’t know why Google doesn’t make them customizable out the box. It would be nice to customize them, and be able to make them go away whenever we want.

  • Tyler Durden

Verizon’s is gonna be late like always. And that blows
