Download: Two New Wallpapers From the New Nexus 7

new nexus 7 wallpaper

The new Nexus 7 includes two new wallpapers that we thought you might enjoy as Android enthusiasts. The best looking of the two – in my opinion – is the one you are seeing above, which is the same wallpaper used in most of the promo images for the new 7-inch tablet from Google. The other is some sort of a spiral-warp-speed-black-hole-ish design, that truthfully, doesn’t seem to match up to the polish and cleanly feel of previous Nexus wallpapers. But I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Both are included below with download links should you be interested.

I updated my old Nexus 7 and didn’t get any new wallpapers. Is anyone having this issue?

  • Christian

And anyone notice the silce of key lime pie in the first one, more Google hints?! Haha

  • Bootleg Zani

So I just turned on my new Nexus 7 32 GB and it updated to 4.3 and I do not have one of the two new wallpapers. How is that even possible? I’m missing the color one.

    • Bootleg Zani

Cancel that the 2nd 4.3 update gave me the wallpaper.

Hi.. I really love this wallpaper.Even i found few more best wallpapers here:

  • Steve Swall

I feel like the first one also goes along with the theme of the Google Play logo.

  • chris420o

smh at this tablet design…looks like the iphone5…like it was designed after a television remote

Does anyone else have the problem of official wallpapers looking substantially lower quality once applied on a device they didnt ship with? IE GS4/One/nexus7 wallpapers on a Nexus 4.

    • MyStroPro

Haven’t had the issue myself ever over the devices I’ve had.

    • mattj78

Yeah, these look like crap on my original Nexus 7 – I assume the screen isn’t high res enough

    • Humberto

are you downloading the actual 2mb wallpapers? or are you just saving the image posted above? I dont have any issues with mine, looks smooth on my old N7

    • Steve Benson

Yeah, make sure you’re not downloading from the image above, but from the actual link. The image above is only 650 x 577 which will look like crap on any device. The Hi-res image is at 2160 x 1920 just to give you an idea.

Download from the link below the image and you’ll be good to go. Looks amazing on my Nexus 7 and GS3.

      • Caleb Loop

Thanks a ton, that was it!

  • joejoe5709

Sweet! But I actually like the second one better. Looks better with DashClock 😉

  • Blue Sun

    Thanks for posting these Kellex!

  • Jordan

That first one is pretty simple. I think I could design wallpapers for Google!

    • Elliot Kotis

That is what they are going for.

  • Marcus Cruz

tbh, they’re both uglier than usual but wallpapers are the least of my concerns

    • sc0rch3d

not sure why people down voted you, but i completely agree. i usually go for very dark minimalist backgrounds b/c I usually cram 2-3 widgets on my main screens. I want content at my fingertips more than a showy background.

    • Jroc869, Nexus-Life

yeah the person who decided on these should be slappend in the face.

  • Bill Hill

Would love for that ‘spiral-warp-speed-black-hole-ish design’ to be a live wallpaper

    • ReturnOfTheMack

The first time I saw it I thought it was a new version of Phase Beam.

    • MyStroPro

Wondered the same thing – I swore it was moving in the video but I went back and looked and it must just be the handy cam jiggle.

I also wondered why no one ever made an editable version of the Holo Spiral live wallpaper.

      • chris420o
