Video: Verizon’s Promo Clips for the New DROID Lineup Hit the Web

With new phones comes new advertising. With the DROID ULTRA, MAXX and Mini now announced, it is time for Verizon to begin their efforts on bringing awareness to the devices. Four different clips have been merged into a single video that has hit YouTube, giving off some OG DROID nostalgia feeling.

What we really like so far is that they are bringing back the quick, almost subliminal feel to the commercials that the original DROID device had. We missed that. No more silly robot battles with girls in leather. It was nice, but it didn’t bring any credibility to the device. With these clips, they highlight device features, such as the massive battery, always-listening software and more.

Like what you see so far?

Cheers s23!

The OG Droid commercials are what made me research what droid was and actually made me discover this website. After tons of reading between iPhones, Androids and BB I picked the OG Droid. Well, almost I then found out I could only get the Motorola Milestone on my carrier in the area but was told that it is essentially the same thing. Which it was. Upon sale I was promised a fast upgrade to 2.2 which took a year and a half. Also I was plagued with random reboots and other things within a month after I got the phone. I expected the software update to fix it but after waiting a year and a half for it it didn’t fix a single thing and was missing half the additions. But discovering android was great, especially root/rom, because my next device was a GS3 on launch day.

At least there are no robots. However … I swear – Moto’s marketing dept just dsnt get it .. show more perceived difference !! What will it do for you in real life !! .. smdh

I kind of like them. Quick clips that gets the point of the ad across.

  • JamesU513

    Terrible commercials as usual

  • DanWazz

    Needs more explosions.

  • Fresh360

Is it me or does 1080p keep flashing on the screen? What is it referring to?

    • guest

      The camera

      • James Hill

Yes, the Droid 4 had a 1080p camera as well.

        • Fresh360

          Ok thanks.

    • NexusMan

      It’s not just you. lol.

  • trophynuts

    Does Jank matter?

  • FINALLY. I have to applaud Moto and Verizon for making this happen. My dream phone.

    • James Hill

Yeah, these are the most anticipated phones’ of the year.

  • John

Glad to see Verizon get away from the destructive and robotic Droid commercials.

  • Alex Goings

The entire time I was watching this all I could think was how much I wanted them to say “Size Matters.”

    • jnt

      you beat me to it!

  • Trevor

I have to say, I hope this is the last of the “DROID” phones. I’m sick of that whole marketing theme.

  • kevin

“detail matters” which is why they chose a 720p screen right

    • Justin W

I think they are referring to the camera in that one. Maybe that was the one before it. Idk

  • NickA

Why can’t I get the specs of the Ultra with the battery life of the Maxx all combined in the Mini? #smh

  • Mike

I do prefer these over the crap they usually go with

  • Verizon

I’m going to office tomorrow and setting the marketing department on fire.

  • Eric

I don’t even understand. That was the dumbest thing ever. They didn’t even show the phone…

    • master94

Just like when they were teasing the original droid. Brings back memories of scary eyeballs trying to kill us all :p

  • SmokeNMirrors

How about a phone with an SD card I can PLUG into my TV…

    • miracast.

      • SmokeNMirrors

Miracast = FAIL. I don’t want an $80 adapter that’s bigger than my phone.

        • You’d rather tether your phone to your tv? odd.

  • gbenj

    I don’t like them

  • imns

How are girls in leather ever a bad thing?

  • Damian

    *Mind Blown*

    • James Hill

That they’d actually be touting these phones as Droids?

  • Dfigs23

    8 Cores
    5 letters in DROID
    Half-Life 3 Confirmed.
