Video: Samsung Shows Off Future of Wearable Technology and Mobile Phones

YouTube Preview Image

At MobileBeat, Samsung’s Young Sohn took the stage and showed off the following video, detailing the company’s take on what the future could look like for smartphones and wearable technology. The video details new flexible display technology, plus a wearable sensor that emits waves into your body, allowing for non-intrusive checks of your blood. Hard to believe that this is the path we are on currently.

Feel free to wach the video and then throw your thoughts down below. As for the device they show off, I am loving that, but am less enthusiastic for the wave-emitting sensor. Still a little creepy to me, but it could be a major turn on for others.

Anyone sense the irony in watching a video about Future tech in 240p?

  • Mike Ranucci

    uhm.

  • NIGHTSCOUT

I’m not impressed with gimmicks. I AM impressed with 5 day battery life. What will I do with a phone that has a 3 hour battery life?

    • calculatorwatch

It is disappointing that battery technology is the one thing that’s barely changed in the last 10 years. I don’t think that’s the point of this video at all since it’s obviously just a concept. But hey a reflective screen that doesn’t rely on back lighting would probably use a lot less power!

lmao, as if Apple didn’t look antiquated enough. What are they spending their cash and R&D on again? Oh…wait….that’s right.

    • IHATEHIPSTERSSS

All you think about is apple. I feel sorry for you.

      • TylerChappell

I feel sorry for you, seeing as how you make narrow-minded assumptions about people whom you know nothing about. Your life must be rather dull to think you know so much to only learn that you know nothing.

  • SkylaC90

I just wanna know how long I have to wait before I can buy it. with secret tech like this, it’s no wonder Kwon Oh Hyun is always happy.

  • Amon Murray

So this is the Jitter Bug 2.0 with TouchWiz? Niiiiccee!

  • Fred Gissubel

i like the foldable phone concept, microsoft showed something like this recently too which makes me think this is semi-close.

  • Mallahet

    • Truth

Here’s proof that there is literally no type of post that can’t be somehow tied to the great apple obsession. To say you people have an inferiority complex would be an understatement.

      • Tyler Durden

Eh they are catching up. Too bad nothing is a priority to them.

        • michael arazan

I’ve been preaching how samsung should use the new flexo screen for a phone that folds into a tablet since I saw it at CES in January, glad they read my idea

  • Bill Hill
