AT&T Pre-orders for the HTC First and HTC One Now Live

htc first pre-order

Today is a big day for AT&T. If you’ve been waiting anxiously (since this morning) to buy the Facebook inspired HTC First, you will be happy to know that the pre-order page is live right now. $99.99 on a new contract, the phone will ship to you next week if you hurry up. If you’ve been waiting for that other HTC phone, the One, you’ll be happy as well.

HTC’s new flagship can now be pre-ordered on AT&T’s website for $199.99, with a new contract, today. Take note though, only the silver color is up for availability right now, no black. If you pre-order today though, AT&T will ship your new phone as early as April 16.

Are you picking up either of HTC’s new devices?

Can’t Add a Plan to the 64GB. Gives an “Incompatible” error.

    • c me

Are you a “premier” at&t user (do you get a work discount)? After two hours on the phone with them, I found out that premier members can’t pre-order online. You have to go into the store.

      • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

I didn’t even sign in. I’m not currently a customer. Is this Pre-Order for current customers only? I might have to call these bastards too

        • c me

No, you should be good to go. That’s not cool. I’m just going to the AT&T store. When I called the store, they told me that they’ve never seen pre-orders available online. AT&T needs to get it together.

and proud of it! for phones at least, ASUS makes my tablets (N7 and TF300T)

  • Butters619

Two HTC phones released at once….

    …and they wonder…

    • n900mixalot

Same old HTC, hahaha. Typicallllll … Don’t GIVE people the cheaper option until you see that the more expensive option has peaked!!!

Why get a dang Facebook phone when you could get a One XVRSSVBPDD or whatever letter they’re on for the same price?

  • Bionic

lets start a chant so we can ignore this stupid phone.

    X phone!
    X phone!
    X phone!

    • n900mixalot

Not until Verizon and Motorola release JB for my Xoom. Bastards.

      • Butters619

My god why have you not rommed it yet?

        • n900mixalot

Because it is a matter of principal. I did some time ago but it felt empty. I want them to be forced to keep their word. There is no justifiable reason they couldn’t have upgraded it by now. The only reason? They didn’t have to because no one complained or held them to their word. That’s how they get away with selling phones like these for more and more each year, people just lie back and take it.

    • nvitone23

Do you know if there is supposed to be any sort of waterproofing on the X phone?

      • Bionic

IP57 Certified. So yes, per sarge

        • nvitone23

          Nice!

  • Mark F

The link for the HTC one is wrong. here is the correct one. http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/htc/one-32gb-glacial-silver.html#fbid=QxZQOXlPMP7

  • Bionic

Soooooo…….. The only news of the day is this retarded phone?

  • http://twitter.com/glimmerman76 eric coultas

did anyone notice the full retail prices att is turning into verizon

599 for 32 and 649 for 64. but there is a 100 difference in sub pricing

    • n900mixalot

Yup. All of the carriers will probably be upping their prices because of demand.

    • RaptorOO7

And did you see what Apple charges for a 32GB $749 and 64GB $849 iPhone so getting a 32GB HTC One @ $599 and $649 is a STEAL. You save $150-200 and that’s a lot of cash.

  • Tim242

Poor HTC. Trying to be the ONE, trying to be FIRST, but always ends up being LAST.

    • SallyRaster

They may be last in sales, but their products are better than Samsung’s and Apple’s combined. You don’t have to be part of a crowd to have the best. Thanks, HTC.

      • Tim242

Each to their own. But keep in mind, your claim of a better product is just an opinion, not a fact.

      • Tirionfive

Hi, How is your removable battery life? Plenty of storage with that SD slot right? Jelly Bean 4.2 is awesome isn’t it?

      • zwade

They do, however, need good sales in order to stay in business. Even their parts suppliers are beginning to shun them.

      • Calvin Williams

No. Sense is no where near as good as touchwiz. It’s gimmicky and doesn’t add useful features. Touchwiz is almost as good as stock. No it’s not as smooth but it adds great features. Most Note 2 owners don’t use stock rom’s because of that. I put CM10 on my sisters GS3 and she asked me to put the “other one” back on which was touchwiz. I thought she was stupid but once I got the gs3 I saw why

        • Tech Pro

Finally someone is speaking the truth. Android stock UI is still lacking many features even though it was greatly improved.

It has been Google’s intention to provide solid foundation for customization and just good enough if the manufacturer was too lazy to make it better.

      • Tim242

Having owned many HTC phones and working in a cell phone store, I can assure you that they don’t make the best products. Every phone they have released has had major hardware and/or software defects.

        • LionStone

Here, I fixed it for you :)
Every phone released has had major hardware and/or software defects.

          • Tim242

Not even. HTC displays would move, or completely detatch. I have never seen any other phone do that. The Thunderbolt would not hold a data connection, along with a ton of other issues. When I worked at Sprint, HTC phones made up 99% of our phones brought in for repairs. Some of those are display issues, camera issues, software issues, and earpiece failure.

          • LionStone

Yes, you know as well as every one here, every phone released has issues. Not everyone experiences the issues, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there. And just because you’ve seen some issues with HTC hw/sw doesn’t mean everyone else does. My TB works perfect, radios are great and stable and keeps a connection, yet unlike my buddies GNex…another friend recently with his Note2 on Sprint (3G), well, it wasn’t pretty. I own 4 HTC phones and all of them run perfectly fine, no hardware/software issues.

            edit: oh, *detach…gotcha again :)

      • LionStone

That’s right, thank you Sally! +100

  • Dave

I’m holding out for the TweetPhone™.

    • Austin Warren

      Oh god no, please, nooooooo

      • LionStone

Congratulations! We pre-ordered you an HTC First!

        Sincerely, the DL Community

i like how theres a samsung status bar in the pic

    • NemaCystX

um, Sense has always had the status bar like that, then Samsung copied them like they did Apple and used it in their own product, the Galaxy S4

      • eli

I’m talking about the htc first genious

        • NemaCystX

I’m sorry that I may have hit a nerve there, obviously your IQ is much higher than mine. Obviously I must have misread the whole article about the HTC First, you would know, the phone that HTC made the hardware & helped design the UI for Facebook home using parts and aspects of Sense 5
          but apparently I’m incorrect
          /s

          • eli

Hey thanks for informing me the HTC first is made by HTC!!!! Also my statement was about the status bar on the facebook phone looking just like the touchwiz status bar. “obviously” you miss-read yet again champ.

  • snowblind64

I wouldn’t buy the First if it was the last phone on earth.

  • Gordiac

What the hell is going on with comScore??? Stupid iSheep.
