Unlock, unroot and factory reset. Heck even unrooted, I’d factory reset it before exchanging or selling it. So that’s not a good enough reason.

Of course a much much higher percentage of rooted Gnex’s – I’d wager well over 50%, probably closer to 60-75%. Rommed however, I’d say 50% or less. So this update is still a fairly major one. Imagine all those poor Gnexs without Lockscreen Widgets and Dashclock! Haha. Even better, I’d wager that 90% people that haven’t rooted this phone are those that don’t even know what rooting is. They simply bought this phone because it was basically Verizon’s equivalent of the GSII and therefore probably don’t know what they’re missing out on.

Actually, I’d bet it’s a lot more than 10%. The Gnex was a sales failure overall, but it was the go-to replacement for the OG Droid. It’s by far the biggest development phone since the OG. I’d say better than 50% are rooted based on limited sales.

Go on Swappa and see what they’re going for there. Last time I checked, a mint condition 32gb Gnex was going for between $230-250.

Yes, but will Verizon so generously continue to “test” them and actually end up pushing them? There’s no precedent, so who knows what they’ll do now that they’ve put it in EOL status.
