Asus has the absolute worst service ever. I have owned several laptops from them, including the when new hard to get J 73, which continually had issues and only because I threatened my lawyer will contact them after 3 months of bs did I get it back.

Time to take away the carriers self made powers, they lease the spectrum from us the citizens, we technically own the airwaves they lease from us through the FCC. People need to write and complain to the FCC and their state’s regulatory commission for telecommunications, every state has one.They shouldn’t get away with half the crap they pull to screw consumers.

It’s not that its impossible to run one here, just a significant nuisance, unless on Verizon and Spring – which probably is impossible. Gotta import one first, paying full price, then it will probably have to be on AT&T for full network speed. Maaaybe T-Mobile will work.

I suppose we could go through the trouble of buying a phone on contract, sell it, then using the money from the sale to buy the PadPhone from the proceeds.

ASUS does want to bring it to the US. It is the carriers that needed to be shaken up and shown that people are interested in the device.. They are looking into Verizon and others, but again up to the carriers. Mums the word.

Absolutely, that’s why options are great. They would have a device that I believe could be a top seller if they had a few options of phone sizes and tablet sizes that was universal (and if it came to the land of the not so free). If they had universal docks that would also work on future phones a lot of people would buy it knowing they wouldn’t have to shell out another few hundred once they upgrade their phone, unless they wanted the next best resolution/features. This is all a dream though.

He said they should have a have a 9.7″ and 8″ option for the 5″ padfone. I implied an 8″a tablet isn’t too small for a 5″ phone because I’m getting a 7″ tablet to compliment my 5.5″ Note 2.

It’s actually quite substantial increase when browsing or watching videos. Also if the padfone is 5″ and he proposed and 8″ option for a tablet dock that would be a 3″ larger screen, which works out to about 2.5x’s the screen size of the padfone.

A hybrid/tablet-mode custom ROM (Paranoid Android comes to mind first) would kick butt on this thing. Can you imagine?
