Video: Nexus 4 Cases – Ringke Fusion and Slim, Spigen Ultra Thin Air, and Official Bumper

nexus 4 nexus logo

This morning, we took a quick look at the new Ringke Fusion case for the Nexus 4 from Rearth. It’s called “fusion” because it fuses together a clear PC back plate and a TPU bumper to give the Nexus 4 protection while allowing the beautiful Crystal Reflection backside to continue to shine through. That post left readers with plenty of questions, most of which had to do with how it compared to other popular cases like the Ringke Slim, Spigen Ultra Thin Air, and the official N4 Bumper.

To help answer some of those, we put together this quick video.

My boy dropped his phone with the slim case and it was finished….hit the corner and the bottom of the screen did not work.

I love the look and concept of the Official N4 bumper case but I have the Galaxy S3 and I’ve looked and have been unsuccessful at finding something similar to the official N4 bumper case. Does anyone one have any suggestions?

How much gap is between the back of the Fusion to the back glass? I’m just concerned that stuff can get trapped between there through the openings.

I don’t expect my Slim case to protect against major falls or other catastrophes, but I’m confident that my back won’t shatter with a minor fumble or two.

Those slim cases seem good at protecting against scratches…but not much else.

Good review. I have a Ringke Slim and I was gonna order the fusion but after watching this I’ll stick with my slim.

Just ordered the Fusion case today and I received a shipping notification a few minutes ago…

How about a solid TPU case from DIztronic or such

    • moelsen8

i wish i could find a tpu case without a matte back. i liked my cimo tpu case on the gnex that had that hard rubbery, grippy feel.

      • KOBALT

Google it, man. I got anice blue one for my Nex7 for $5. I’m using a BodyGlove on my Note2 that was like $15. Just google TPU CASE and yoour device. Someone makes it

tried, a lot. most of the N4 cases are just copies of each other. and pretty much all i’ve seen that are tpu have that matte back that i don’t like. ordered a bunch and they’re all the same.

Try cruzerlite. They have pretty good TPU cases.

I have a diztronic case and love it. Back is see through enough to still see Nexus but thick enough to keep it from cracking.
