Download Those Awesome Google Now City Headers in High Resolution

googlenownewyork

One of my favorite parts of Google Now are the headers that not only change depending on where you are in the world, but also according to what time of the day it is. If you’re like me and wanted to see more of these headers that are confined to the small phone or tablet screen space, today is your lucky day. XDA user jathak has pulled them for your viewing pleasure.

Multiple cities are included in the downloads; London, New York, Berlin, Austin and San Francisco. In addition to having a few other ones as well, each header has a different download for the time of day (dawn, day, dusk and night). Hit the source link below for the download links, and be sure to show some love for this awesome find.

Denver chiming in. I’m confused because we get the ‘Tahoe’ version here, and you would think it would be the default. However we have forests and rolling hills too so, I suppose it’s accurate.

How have I never noticed the Chicago header? Now I’m happy I see it!

Curious that Austin has one among all of these cities, but I’ll take it! Course we do have a huge IT crowd, huge IT-related festivals (SXSW), and have a pretty bug Google office here too…

PS Austin and London appear to have Bigfoot in their images.

Please make one for Ft Myers, FL. You could use a redneck or perhaps a hobo in the picture. Almost every car should be a pickup truck or a 90′s civic with stupidly large and annoying exhaust system. Thanks,

  • Mallahet

They show mountains for downtown Minneapolis, which I guess is correct if you’re depicting the current weather..

    Hope Los Angeles and Anaheim make it soon. {{-_-}}

  • omgitzjose

I live in a borough of NYC (staten island) and it shows mountains lol sure we have the highest point on the eastern seaboard but id rather see the NYC skyline than mountains

  • alpha4005

You know I saw this and kept asking why all the screenshots of others Gnow had cities and stuff…. I only ever have mountains… Even in daytona… Don’t you think they could have come up with some generic… plains… beaches… deserts… something other than mountains all the time

  • Cowboydroid

He left out Miami, they do have a header.

But the “rate limit exceeded,” so no downloads for me :(

    link doesn’t work

  • OligarchyAmbulance

I’m glad I can finally get the Austin header as a background!

  • jaw_shoe_uh

    How about some Portland love…

Being from Detroit, I was sad when I went to chicago and saw the skyline pop up in google now…why the hate for the motorcity, google?

    • http://twitter.com/savagejeep SavageJeep

Being from D-Town; everyone, including Detroit, hates Detroit. ;)

  • sagisarius

Living in the Midwest, i think it would be cool if they’d to like a winter and summer version too.

  • http://twitter.com/AMiller31 A.Miller

It would be nice if they would just let us choose a header.

  • Pedro

Damn you, Eric! Why did you point out that there are are real skylines available?

  • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Mountains, for some inexplicable reason, is the default. For everyone who always sees mountains, that’s why.

  • http://twitter.com/paedz718 Paul D

not accurate on mine, i’m in NYC and I see mountains always

  • Raven

I live in the middle of North Dakota in the Missouri River valley and Google Now always shows mountains for me. I didn’t even realize that it changed. I just thought that someone likes mountains. Now, I wish there was some way to manually change them and select the one that I want. Any ideas?

    • Raven

After looking at XDA I see that what I am seeing is the Default header. What is strange is that I see they do have a Great Plains header and we are right in the top of the Great Plains so they should really be showing that one. Although, to be honest, I prefer the look of the Default scene.

  • theswillmerchant

I still can’t believe LA doesn’t have its own header. Seriously, its the second largest metro area in the US.

    • Pedro

But all the celebs use iphones. No one would see it :)

    • brkshr

I’m picturing a bunch of smog, so you can barely make out the downtown/skyscraper skyline.

    • antwonw

It’s got the beach one with the lifeguard tower.

      • michael arazan

I drove by LA once for a day saw downtown, Venice beach, and so on, like six months later I saw a pic of LA again and there were mountains behind the city, couldn’t believe the smog was so bad it blocked out the entire mountain range

  • Wes

Mine is kind of close. I live in Norfolk, and it shows a beach with some mountains in the background.

  • Kyle Miller

I have that SF Launcher my Nexus 7!

  • pizzaparties

I had no idea it changed until I went to Dublin last week. Dublin has a cool one.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Thandrophir Thand

    Dear Google,

Washington D.C. wants to know why you hate it. We don’t even have any mountains here.

    • Shane Redman

Don’t they have an office up here too?

      • sagisarius

They do…. I think they did sexiest locations first…. or something. Austin and Seattle have their own for some reason.

        • Shane Redman

Really though? I’m just thinking about the possibilities with all the monuments. It’s perfect.

          • sagisarius

Yeah, D.C. seems like it would be a really cool one.

          • michael arazan

How does one change his Google now header? Nothing in settings, I live in St.Louis would be nice to have an Arch, but I’d settle for Hawaii or London

        • antwonw

If you look at Seattle’s, Andy is in there. Seattle’s gotta mean something to Android and Google.

    • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

It shows mountains here. I live in central Illinois. Flat ground and corn fields as far as the eye can see.

    • Capt. Crunch

Well Google is headquartered in Mountain View. BTW it would be cool if the images reflected the current weather.

  • http://www.facebook.com/nathanielnewmanmusic Nathaniel Newman

I wish Google Now backgrounds were accurate. Mine shows mountains. But I’m in Middle TN. It should show forests. I’m in the rural town of no where!

    • http://twitter.com/JoeyZimbada JoeyZimbada

Do you know Hickock45 of youtube fame? I love that guy!

    • Pedro

Shoot, I live in Houston. The biggest hills we have here are the ones that bulldozers pushed on golf courses.

Unless you check Google Now! Man, those are some mountains!

  • http://twitter.com/daniel_ohh Daniel Ogilvie

I remember when I left Austin and was surprised that not every city had their own headers.

  • Bowen9284

They could really use a Providence, RI with all of our towering skyscrapers.
