Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Update for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Update is Here

jelly bean logo

This morning, owners of the Galaxy Note 10.1 from Samsung have started to see the Android 4.1.2 update hit their tablets. It’s been a bit of a wait, but it brings a lot of bug fixes and also fixes the Exynos exploit that we briefly touched on earlier last month.

To update your device to Android 4.1.2, head to Settings > About device > Software update.

Cheers Mike!

Installing the update, my tab reboots, shows a progress bar to 10%, then the screen just goes blank and appears hung. I’ve waited an hour, and no change. Tried the process multiple times.
    Anyone else seeing this?

Anybody else getting “Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later”

I am getting the same thing.

Found a way to update. Plug your Note into your computer and download through Kies yes it’s slower but you’ll still get the update.

I am getting the same message. And Kies does not work for me….anyone have any idea when the update will get to everyone? like a week?

Kies worked fine for me in getting the update, what problems are you having?

        • john

When I plug my note10.1 in and it finally connects to Kies, it says I have the latest firmwire installed. I really am confused about it…

        • john

when my note10.1 finally connects to Kies…it says I already have the latest firmwire so i cant do anything

I did notice a speed improvement in the ui. The only knock on it would be the screen res but seeing as most android apps aren’t even made for higher res tablet screens you don’t even notice it. Now you can lasso tool anywhere on the screen using the s-pen and it makes copying information so much easier. Also front facing speakers ROCK!

yea the biggest disappointment is the lack of tablet apps out there that aren’t just phone apps scaled up.

Any speed improvements? I know it did not get good reviews before.
