So here’s my issue… I have a Transformer Prime and I use a program called Splashtop THD (wonderful remote desktop app 60fps capable check it out). I also have the keyboard dock which makes the world of a difference when using remote desktop apps.

I find myself defaulting to using Splashtop and in turn my Win7 desktop/environment instead of the Android environment. Especially if it involves web browsing. I even watch Netflix from my PC through Splashtop since the Android version lags too much.

I love Android to death, but I feel like once we get a fully fledged desktop Linux device, we’re just going to default to that OS instead of Android because of it’s wider range of use and (dare I say it regarding Linux) compatibility.

I don’t think it’s a good idea for Android to share space with a full computer OS because in terms of capability it’s going to fall short and then just sit on the back burner.

I’d rather see properly working apps on Android, but I’m aware that it’s the manufacturers tossing the two in the same basket and not Google or the app developers.

You can put a ‘trial’ copy on a USB stick and boot into it. Try it out!

Do we know if this is normal Linux, or the mobile optimized Linus we saw recently? I would guess it is the full-on desktop version, since Canonical mentioned that a tablet optimized version is coming soon (as in, not available now).
