I also noticed that. There is simply no mercy on the 4.2 keyboard for varying slightly off key. Swype wins in this regard.

I switched back to Swype after using the stock 4.2 keyboard. Swype is actually predicting my words more accurately, plus I liked having the list of alternates right there as I type the word or select it, instead of having to go through an extra step to get the right word that it got wrong the first time.

The 4.2 keyboard still has a lot to gain before it can best Swype. But it does look a hell of a lot better than Swype.

I was using swiftkey flow but I gave this keyboard a go and man is it better than the stock 4.2. It’s everything in the stock but so much more customization!

I know Swype, at least, uses their own speech recognition processor.

Speech recognition isn’t a product of each individual keyboard, so it should be the same on all of them.

The emoji support doesn’t seem to work for N4 without being in the Handcent_SMS app. Other than that, it’s great.

I use swype because all the other keyboards seem to think that it’s intelligent to disable predictive capabilities when I’m in the play store or browser. Makes no sense to me, just because it’s a URL or the name of an app, doesn’t mean that it isn’t comprised of words.

Did you try using the stock messaging app as well? I think it’s the messaging app that controls the keyboard.

Agreed as well. I really miss the JB keyboard on my DNA. I’ve tried to use flashable apks, but they don’t seem to work as well as the one I had on my Gnex. It seems really laggy.

Anybody have a link to the right 4.2 keyboard apk that works on the DNA? The one i tried didn’t have emoji

The 4.2 keyboard and Flow are pretty much neck and neck on performance. The only reason I prefer Flow is because it has better word prediction.
