The Nexus 4 feels downright fragile compared to my Droid RAZR, but my Droid RAZR feels downright chintzy compared to my Nexus 4. It’s a trade off, but I try to enjoy both for their strengths rather than lament both for their weaknesses.

This is comforting also coming from a RAZR. I’ve voluntarily dropped my phone so many times just to show how resilient these phones are. Of course, I won’t do that with my nexus.. something I’ll miss but still good to hear that coming from a previous RAZR owner.

I wanted the car dock mainly for the convenience of the Pogo pins. It’s annoying to manage all the cables in my car with the way it’s all setup. But it’s not all that bad I guess.

Just get a generic. The novelty of the nice fit and finish of an OEM will fade in less than a week.

Yeah, I don’t care either way really. It helps to have it on the bottom when I’m in the car and I’ve got the power plugged (to my Galaxy Nexus), but I really wouldn’t care if they would just release their accessories for their phones. I’ve been waiting to get the Car Dock for my GNex for about a year now.

That’s what she said! But seriously, I’d rather have the headphone jack on top than on bottom. It’s preference; there really isn’t a “correct” way.

I don’t think there’s any way around covering that if you want protection, but I’ll agree that side to side swiping (especially things like accessing the camera from the lock screen) is a delight on the Nexus 4.

I was the exact same way with my Droid RAZR. Plastic is a great material for smartphones; durable, great signal transduction, temperature resistant, etc. Still have to say that I absolutely love the look and feel of my Nexus 4, though.

I’ve dropped my Galaxy Nexus many times, and it still just about looks good as new. A lot of people complained about the plastic casing for it, but damn is it durable. Never once have I needed a case for it. I tried a silicone case that wraps around its back, but found it to be too bulky, and decided that I can use my Nexus just the way it is.
