I wish they wouldn't roll phones out so quickly, anyway. You make a two-year commitment, then out comes a new model and you look outdated. That's one reason I like my Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro -- it's truly different, made for outdoor use like when I'm out on a property search with my real estate clients in Austin. I have it on AT&T's 4g lte network, too, which means the photos I shoot fly on e-mail.

I SO agree!!! The point about not wanting to feel like your phone is quickly obsolete is the critical one. I just got a new phone from AT&T (on their 4G LTE list, the HTC One X) and, as a graphic designer, really like the style. but if it's outdated in a year I'm going to look from a professional standpoint behind the times. That sucks.

Amen to that. I have a GS3 and am very happy with it, but part of what will determine my future loyalty to Samsung will be the extent to which they continue to support the device with future software updates. They are off to a good start so far, but I agree that it will help things if they stick with the Apple model of one product release/year rather than 2-3. Do one annual release for the S series and one annual release for the Note - anything more is overkill.

Personally, I'm glad they won't announce the GS4 so soon. I think the manufacturers should slow down the pace of releasing new devices because the differences are not always enough to justify the expense of buying a new phone and nobody likes feeling their device is obsolete only a few months after buying it. I know it creates motivation for people to buy more but I think most people still buy on a 2 year cycle as they get upgrade credit. If there were fewer devices released each year, the manufacturers could focus more on software updates and the devices they do release could spend more time in the oven, so to speak, so they would be higher quality. Fewer devices would also make development easier for the ROM community and for app developers. I hate to praise Apple for anything but I think they have the right idea in releasing only one iPhone per year.

I love that the Galaxy finally created a prized phone spot in the Android world. I was shocked to be completely honest.
