That’s why I have Swype, and because I’m quite good at Swype. Gesture Typing is good on stock, but too many nuisances on it as well. Hopefully SwiftKey Flow comes soon.

After all the raving on here about it, I have been trying Swiftkey for the past few weeks. I have to admit…I am not exactly blown away. I still like Multiling better.

I hate Google’s stock keyboard precisely because it doesn’t allow long pressing on letters for symbols and number. Such an unintuitive method to have to go to a separate menu for everything.

True, but the new Swype beta does a good job of being an additional keyboard without having to do any hackery.

That’s what long press is for. It will take literally .25 seconds longer. Plus swift kry has shortcuts for the most used symbols as long press options as well.

And also, when you switch views, numbers are in a standard num pad layout.

The problem with these built-in keyboards is that they can’t be updated. I remember being so annoyed that I couldn’t update my Swype version on my Droid X.

Im spoiled by the dedicated number row. I cant switch to a keyboard that doesnt have it.
