I also totally agree. Purchased a 550 as soon as they came out – after using my CR48 until the hinge broke (still looking to see if I cant cheaply replace the hinge somehow, I have epoxied it so it works, but it kind of rubs and makes a cracking sound every time it opens now). Love the 550. It has become a workhorse, such that I take it to work and use it to remote into my work machine that sits at home constantly connected to the internet. I prefer to remote into my work machine, as I only need it for specific heavy apps (Primavera P6, MSProject, other Enterprise apps) – the rest of the time I jump out of that window and over to a faster experience on the web.

Not interested. I think that the concept of cloud computing has merit but at this point in the game I’d be more interested in a touchscreen “Droidbook” or something like the Asus Transformer (which is why I just bought one). Of Google’s OS’s Android seems to bring more capability and support to the table. With the introduction of a touchscreen Chromebook I sincerely believe that at some point Chrome and Android will be unified.

Because Chrome is a browser, capable of running on practically any architecture. Android is a more complex OS. Chrome is the future, it’s just in a very infant stage compared to Android. If you’re trying to predict the future of computing, you need to consider a lot more than what’s right in front of your face.

Because Android apps are just wrappers for the real meat, the web services that power the apps. Android will in time morph into Chrome OS, not the other way around.
